The Unexpected Encounter

Chapter 8: Hoshi

The next day morning, I go to school as usual. I take out my headphone and listen to my favourite song. It's a cover from a Youtuber, Hoshi. The song is "I Do" original by Rain.

I press on the play button and the music plays, I listen to the song and walk to school.

"아껴 널 아껴 널 현기증 날 정도로 아낀다!"

Huh? Someone is singing a verse in Adore U from my back. I wonder who is he so I turn around and I figure out that is Soonyoung.

He notices me looking at him, he immediately pause the music and says "Good morning Jihoon! Adore U is really a very good song! My brain is full of 아낀다!"

I smile and reply "Good morning Soonyoung. Glad that you like it."
"Um...Jihoon? I have something to do right now, I might need to go to school a bit earlier, so I'll rush back now! Bye!" He finishes and starts to run.

I look at his back, watching him slowly disappear from my sight. I sigh and continue walking to school with my music.

What happen to me... I'm starting to miss Soonyoung... But I just meet him a few seconds before....

"I do I do wanna spend my life with you
꿈을 꾸며 I do 소중한 그 맹세를 할 때
니 곁에 내가 나의 곁에 니가 있기를" The song continues.

While I am enjoying the song, I just realise a thing. The voice from this song is so familiar... I feel like I've heard this voice somewhere else before...Not very long time ago.... I keep on search the voice in my mind and suddenly Soonyoung pops up in my mind.

Soonyoung? Well, just now he sings Adore U and the feeling is quite the same....Moreover, the pronounciation is so similar...

Hoshi, this person means a lot to me.
I've been listening to his covers ever since he started his channel, he did many covers but I Do is my favourite one... He is someone I admire because he is really passionate in singing, and very brave and his cover always cheer me up.

I remember once he mentioned that he was being judge by his singing ability based on his appearances. People kept on insulting him that he could not sing because he is ugly. That's why he started this channel and share his covers by not showing his face. He wanted to catch audience interest only base on his voice.
He doesn't want people to be so superficial, thinking that only good lookings can sing well.
I would love to meet him in person, he must be very good looking person. But I didn't have a chance or being brave enough to approach him... I never ever thought that Hoshi could be someone I know....

Well.... Soonyoung does got a same feeling as Hoshi.... As I remember Soonyoung mentioned he was being bully in elementary school....His voice is so similar with Hoshi too...

Maybe Soonyoung is Hoshi? After all it's not a bad thing maybe...

I keep thinking about this when I arrive school, even during the first three lesson.

Recess

"Jihoon!"
A voice pulls me back to the reality.
"Huh?" I ask, looking around.
"You're spacing out. Are you ok?" Soonyoung asks me with worry.
"I'm fine just thinking." I smile in reply.
"So we are talking about adding some dance moves in Adore U to make the performance more fun to watch!" Soonyoung says.
"Soonyoung already have some ideas in his mind, he showed us just now and it's really good!" Seokmin continues.
"You make the dance?" I ask Soonyoung.
Soonyoung nods his head and Wonwoo cuts in "He arrived school earlier and kept on thinking dance moves."
