Amelie
I woke up in the middle of the night, not finding a comfortable position for my wings. I almost felt them fight me to be left up in the air, but the wings were too big for me to do that in the small tent. That lead me to go outside in the quietest possible way so I wouldn't wake Xavier and Lory up.
I was currently sitting on the piece of log as my wings took in the cool air of the night. My eyes subconsciously closed as I rolled my shoulders in circles so as to stretch my back from the small ache I still felt on it.
"Stupid wings." I muttered to myself. It's as if they had a mind of their own because they suddenly flapped angrily, bringing me to the ground with it.I was pressed to the ground with a loud thud and I groned in pain.
"Call me crazy, but I think wings aren't suppossed to bring people to the ground." I said sarcastically to nobody in particular as I tried to stand up again. I tried for about three minutes until I gave up, and just lay there looking at the ground. I sighed in defeat and let my arms fall to my sides feeling like the weight of the world was on my back.
Without realizing, my eyes were already closing and not caring that my cheek was being dirtied by the mud on the ground, I fell asleep anyway. I was too tired to keep thinking about it, so I just let the sleep take over. Not even a minute later and I was already starting to dream about the possibilities of me getting back to my friends; of ending with all of this and finally being able to have a normal life.
'Nothing is ever going to be normal for us is it?'
'No. It's definately not.'
Then I was being blinded by a white light.
"She moved!" I heard a faint yell as I got lifted off of the ground.
"You couldn't have at least pick me up before." I groaned as I massage my neck bit by bit.
"Your wings wouldn't let us." Lory defended. I glared at her as I gained my balance and moved my head around to get a better neck proportion. I probably got whiplash of something from this uncomfortable sleepig position.
"We've got to move. I think you two have lasted long enough in this place. Time for life to not be an island paradise, and for reality to come back to us." Xavier said, as he got out his old backpack and stuffed some things from the tent in it.
"Where can we go?" I asked, stretching my feet out infront of me, already feeling a cramp on my right leg.
"It's too close to being January sixth. I'll explain on our way because now, we have to figure a way out of this island." he said.
"What do you mean?" Lory asked as she helped out in picking everything she owned and put it in the backpack we stole about two weeks ago.
Time sure does fly by.
"This island's different. It aids those who need help either in resting or finding something you need. You guys probably needed it a lot before you arrived, therefore, it decided to help you out." Xavier explained, as he motioned for us to go and help him with the tent.
"Why did it let you come in then?" I asked.
"Maybe it knew I wanted to find you, so it helped me come in." he mumbled shyly, although Lory and I heard it.
"Oh." was my only reply.
"This island feels what people feel and thinks what people think. It's the reason as to why it's called the Copycat Island." he said as we finished putting away the tent and putting it all in the backpack Lory and I own.
