Amelie

This morning it was decided by all of us that Lory and I would stay here and give Xavier a little bit of time in order to search for his symbol.

Lory already had hers and now I'm guessing I'll be the only one left of the three to not have my symbol.

"So Xavier huh?" Lory teased as she sat down beside me with two water bottels in hand. I huffed as I took one of the water bottels and she chugged down the other.

"Don't even think about asking me that. Yesterday was like that between us because we hadn't seen each other in a long time." I said.

"But still, I don't think I've met anyone who has looked into each other's eyes like that-that weren't in love." I quickly shook my head and laughed at her joke.

"Don't. I don't love him. I may only possibly have a little crush, but I most certainly do not love him." I said, and I had no doubt in my mind that I was telling the truth because we'd only seen each other yesterday after a long time of being apart and us only making ammends right before I was taken.

I kept on rambling in my own head without noticing that Lory stood up and took out the camera I had wanted to take away from her yesterday.

I sigh in defeat, "Come on. Let's look for more wood. I think we're out." I said even though I didn't know the number of woods we had until now.

"Okay, but we'll have to talk about this some day. I'm just saying it'll be better if it's now without him here, than with him here." she says, but I just continued ignoring her.

I heard her chuckle lightly before catching up with me as we both entered deeper into the woods. That sounds like a horror movie, but what doesn't in this kind of world?

The other day I had made marks on the trees, depending on where we were, with arrows that lead back to camp so we weren't afraid of getting lost.

"You go that way, I'll go this way." I said as I pointed first to the right and then to the left, according to each of our names. Lory didn't say anything at all, she just nodded and went to the right without taking that stupid smile off her face as she watched the video of my encounter with Xavier yesterday.

I rolled my eyes and turned left, shaking my head st her. I had picked up the axe that I stole last time and had my daggers inside my boots just in case something happened. I had told Lory to pick up her bow and arrow, but I don't have to tell her because she always does.

After a couple of minutes of walking I heard a scream and the thump of footsteps coming closer.

"Lory!" I yelled as I ran towards the sound; daggers ready. I reached a place where the sounds were more prominent, until total silence followed.

"Hello?" I called out. I knew it was stupid to do that, but if Lory was there she'd answer.

I heard a bush be pushed away and I yelped in fear as I saw Lory running right into me.

We both fell right on the ground and I hissed in pain as my cut stung with pain due to tiny dirt pebbles scratching the cut. I scrubbed them all away before standing up and taking my defense pose.

"Be careful. I don't know what that thing was." she advised, and I couldn't help but feel a little reluctant at this.

Lory never tells me to be careful, she usually wants me to never be careful. I narrowed my eyes at her back and see that her bow and arrow weren't with her.

"Where is your weapon and how come you don't go to see what was chasing you with me?" I asked with a raised brow. Lory just shrugged in reply, still having the 'I don't know what you're talking about' face.
