Quick note!

This is a re-written chapter, as...well we all know, "The Great Wattpad Error of 2016" wiped the original chapter. But that's okay! I'm totally not low-key crying on the inside!

The days drew out into weeks, and I made a mental schedule in my head of what happened (I'd assume) was every day. Every day I would be woken by the brunette boy who brought me my meals; he would give me breakfast and talked with me. Nothing of real importance, just about his job as the nightwatch and chef. (Example, today he shared the thrilling tale of how he chopped one two many carrots in someones food and his endeavors of taking them out of the dish.) Then, he would leave me to eat in peace before the sweaty troll (whom of which, at this point. I came to loath more than the hunter who captured me in the first place.) and he would proceed to strap me down and perform tests on me that included(but were not limited to)slicing me, injecting me with things that would cause me to endure more pain, and even let wounds try to heal over his blades. This of course caused his assistant to become upset at the sight of me, and she would soon leave. Then the troll would proceed to wallow in his self pity and put me through hell--ignore the fucking irony in that statement please. And finally, I would receive my final meal of the day, then sleep to be woken up and repeat the process. Like clockwork.

I woke up to a familiar voice, not the British male's, bit an angrier, grouchier one.
"Pleasure to see you again, hybrid-what-the-fuck." Karkat spoke as I sat up, "We got a real treat today; good news is, you get to leave your cell, bad news is...."

I zoned out after the words, 'leave the cell'. I got to get out of this blindingly white room. It was music to my ears. Karkat snapped his fingers to regain my attention.

"Fuckface! Hey! Damnit, why is it always me having to deal with the weird fucking subjects...." He sighed, "Get up, and keep in mind these fuckers will still turn you into half holy, half demonic swiss cheese if you tr y anything." he threatened, taking my hands and forcing them behind my back. I glanced at him, and he nudged me forward, "C'mon, walk." He ordered, and i did so.

We walked down a hallway, and I glanced around. There were guards everywhere- I mean literally everywhere. I kept walking until we arrived to a door. He reached in front of me to swipe a card and open the door. Then I was pushed inside.

The sceanery wasn't what I was expecting. Really, I was thinking another room that was blindingly white. But I was greeted with a much more pleasant scene. It resembled a forest down to every detail. there was even a sun high in the sky with surrounding clouds. I glanced around, then behind me.

I swear to God, wasn't there a door I just came through? Like, I just came through. I've seen my fair share of doors, and not one of them that I had seen thus far has ever diapered. Doors don't do that.

I turned my attention back to the forest. I crouched and tore up the grass from under me. I looked down, and bit my finger. This drew blood, but that was what I wanted. I dripped the red liquid onto the ground where there was only soil. Hopefully this would serve as a marker to show where I came in from. Since there clearly wasn't a fucking door to do so.  Then I moved to the edge of the forest to start walking the perimeter of it, starting to learn the land. In some weird fucking prison or not, I wanted to know I was safe, and considering they hadn't hesitated thus far to harm me, it was a wise idea to do so.

  ={_}=

I finished up the final line of code that I was supposed to have for the first five levels of programming. What I was making were trials really, first level simply surviving nightfall in this cute little forest I had created. Never judge a book by it's cover though, because night time was when my masterpiece really came to life. Common wildlife came out at night, animals humans called wolves, bobcats, and bears. Predators. Not to mention other dangers in the forest in general, various insects, plants that were harmful if touched or consumed, typical things that often killed people when trapped in a forest. Then there were the nonharmful aspects of course, I may be an evil computer genius, but I play fair. There were deer, fish, edible plants, fresh water, etc. Most importantly, and Dave insisted on this, the whole terain was fire proof.  The hybrid possessed powers apparently, that could sear the place in an instant.

I sighed and leaned back in my chair. I smiled at my  computer screen. Call me arrogant, but I took high pride in a job well done. And this? This was a job well fucking done.

"You finished Captor?" I heard the familiar voice ask me. I wore a smirk of pride.

"Of coursthe." I replied, as if it were something the other should have obviously known.

"Good. Work on the next five levels of difficulty." He spoke in the same tone I had used.

"Stheriousthly? I'd be shocked if he could get pastht thesthe onesth." I replied. I litterally just finished, and I wanted to take a break after my hard work. But of course, Dave wouldn't let me have that

"Sollux, let me ask you, what do we pay you for?" He asked me in a pleasant tone. Of course, it was meant in a condescending way.

"To deal with your bull sthit?" I raised a brow, glaring from behind my bi-colored glasses.

"To do what we say without your pointless input." He kept the kind tone with his harsh words.  I felt my eyes spark as I turned to my computer, beginning to type the next portion of code.

"There's a good boy." I could hear the smirk in his voice as i gritted my teeth, "Oh, and Sollux? Keep up the good work." He added as I heard him walk away.

I began to furiously type. It was something about coding, think of it as like those human stress revealing plush balls. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just not for hours on end. But something about it still made me slightly mellow down.

It wasn't that the coding was hard, in fact, it was extremely easy. A grub with no image receptors and half a think pan could do it. A few commands and code lines with receptors for each one, and poof. You got yourself some functioning code.

I was snapped from my focus by a grouchy voice, "Sup four eyes?"

I glanced back at Karkat, "Oh nothing really, justht got threatened to have my job taken away again. The usthual really." I replied before returning to my stressful coding.

Karkat snorted, "Honestly, do you actually think Strider would, nor could, get rid of you? He knows as well as I do that you are probably the best coder anyone has to offer. Plus the security system you got setup? There's no way." He assured me and I nodded.

"Yeah, I guesth." I replied, before begining to focus on my furioius typing.

Then, Karkat's hand landed on my shoulder and I felt myself become as docile as a baby meowbeast.

"Dude. You need to go take a break. I thought that I was fucking stressed, geez. Go take a nap and chill out, okay? You need it. I'll cover for you." Karkat told me as he patted my shoulder. I sighed softly and saved my progress, then moved form my computer. "Okay." I left my office and made my way to the break room trolls were supposed to use. Kinda fucked up that we were segregated. But that made Dave couldn't fuck with me, and that I could take a decent rest.
