A voice...

I heard a faint voice....

But...

Why...?

I was sleeping a minute ago... Right...?

Yes. I was definitely sleeping. No doubt. But why was I hearing a voice? I've never "dreamed".

"Wake up you demon piece of shit."

Quite the wake-up call honestly. I jerked my head up to see a blonde male, eyes hidden behind a pair of aviator sunglasses. His voice sounded southern, but only soft hints gave away his accent. And it sounded slightly robotic. It was odd. But I didn't have time to question before he spoke again,

"Get out the tree before I make you." He was hostile, violently so, and it his bravado put me on edge. I spread my wings and fell from the tree I rested in, landing with a soft thud. I kept my wings spread, as if to be on guard. The look on the mysterious blondes face gave away that he had no idea of the fact I was a hybrid. He stared and looked me over. I observed wis weaponry and his small trophy chain. A typical hunter it appeared to be. It was my turn to speak and fill the silence with what he was thinking,

"You don't even know what you're up against, do you hunter?" I spoke the words in a taunting, almost menacing way.

"What..." Where his next words, and his eyes began tracing every detail about me from behind those stoic shades.

"The hell..." He chose those words next, his hands trembling slightly as the gripped his knife tighter.

"Are you...?" He whispered this and stared at my eyes.

"Pathetic..." I rolled my eyes. "They stopped teaching their hound dogs about hybrids didn't they?" I played a soft smirk onto my lips.

"What do you mean?" He questioned, his stoic face wrinkled in a questioning look.

"The government." I said plainly. "They only taught you to play fetch with demons, didn't they?" I raised an open palm and a small blue flame conjured on top of it to provide better lighting in the dimly lit area. The hunter clearly took this as a threat and drew his side arm.

"Put it out, or I'll put you out." He spat.

"Honestly..." I flicked my wrist and the flame disappeared as quickly as it showed up.

"Explain what you're doing here. Humor me." He demanded, moving closer to me.

"None of your concern." I replied.

I wasn't in the mood to tell my life story to a hunter.

He clicked his gun, pointing it directly at me now.

"I'll ask one more time, because I'm patient. What are you doing here?"

I began to loose my temper at this point. The fact that this human hunter was trying to force information out of me was pissing me off. I pressed my glasses up the bridge of my nose and the hunters finger twitched slightly.

"You wouldn't understand, nor do you care." I glared and flicked my wrist once more, this flame brighter and larger than the last. He growled at me,

"Strike two demon-... Hybrid..." He corrected his insult then watched me closely.

"You. Wouldn't. U n d e r s t a n d." I clenched my free fist in frustration, the flame in my palm growing larger and brighter. The whole area was lit in a bright blue.

"Than make me understand." He pressed on, taking daring steps closer to me.

"You won't understand! No one dose!" I lost my cool. I rarely ever do with all honesty. But there was something about this guy... He rubbed me the wrong way. My blood felt like it was boiling. A sharp tingle of adrenaline was soon to follow. I raised my arm and slung it at the hunter, a large amount of bright blue flames following my motions towards the hunter.

"What makes you any different?!" I found myself yelling.

Why...

Why was I yelling?

Over something so petty?

For once I didn't feel numb acceptance.

I felt angry.

Rebellious

Plain out pissed.

I watched the hunter shield his face as the flames fringed his clothes and blonde hair. I flicked my wrist and sent a fireball at him, which hit his arm and singed a hole in his sleeve.

I stared a moment in disbelief before My ears perked at a new distant sound.

Sirens. Police sirens. Spectacular really.

"You... Really fucked up hybrid." The demon said shakily, holding his arm and breathing heavily as he watched me.

Did I?

Did I really hunter?
