IZZY'S POV
I pull Simon into an ally way. "It's attractive when you fight demons," I say in a hushed tone and grab his collar and kiss him. "I-Iz, we should....find the...the others," he mumbles. I nod and kiss him again. He stumbles out of the ally way and tries to fix his appearance. A few people on the street glare at his arm around my waist.
(THERE ARE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE ENTIRE SERIES)
He squirms slightly, only enough for me to notice, under the stares of the people walking the street. I knit my fingers with his and he relaxes slightly.
Jace's POV:
I place sleeping Emily on the bed and tuck her into bed. Clary sits down on the bed and feeds Noah. "Alec and Magnus are in the left room. And Iz and Simon in the right. I'll be right back," I open the door. "Jace," she says. I turn my face toward her. She's looking at Emily. She's curled up in a ball crying. My eyes flicked to Clary and I walk to Emily. "What's wrong?" I ask her and she climbs into my lap. "Mommy and daddy don't love each other anymore," she cries. Clary walks over. "What do you mean?" Clary asks. "Daddy leaves all the time," she cries and hold her arms out to Clary. We do a quick baby exchange and Clary pats Em's back with her head on her shoulder. I shoot Clary a questioning look. 'I don't know' she mouths. "Honey, watch," Clary steps toward me. 'Kiss me' she mouths and I do so. "See mommy and daddy still love each other," I say. "Why did you kiss that other lady?" she asks me.
Clary' POV
I put Noah in Izzy's arms and shut the door. "What was that?" I ask Jace. He's sitting on the bed with his hands massaging his temples. "I have no idea," he looks at me. "Well, you better find one because, frankly I have no place to go and we can't afford another room," I cross my arms. "Clary, I swear I haven't kissed another woman for years," he's standing now. "Then why did Emily say that?" I ask. "I don't know, Clary. She's five. Who knows why she said that. But, I don't want to fight. And I swear I haven't kissed anyone," he says. "Fine. Let's go to bed," I notice the moon and head back to get the kids.I wake up in Jace's arms. His breath fanning my neck. "Good morning," he whispers and pulls me closer. "Mhmm," I turn towards him. "Why would Emily say that? You haven't even seen her without me for days," I ask. "Maybe if someone looked like me," he suggests. "No big deal," I nod. "No big deal," he kisses me. I pull his face back to mine when he tried to pull away. My skin aches for him and I pull away. "The kids," Jace says. "Are sleeping," I kiss him again. "Clary, I live for these moments but I am not going to make out with you while our kids are in the same room," he says. "Mhmm," I nod and get on top of him. I straddle his hips and kiss his cheekbone. "Now?" I ask. "Babe, seriously-" he starts. "Emily isn't even in here. She slept with Izzy and Simon. Noah is still a baby," I beg. He sits up and leans against the headboard. He looks at me and shakes his head. "I am going to regret this," he says and kisses me. I kiss him and his rubs my back. I caress his shoulders and he shrugs off his shirt. He slips his hands under my shirt, his long fingers holding my small frame. A knock sounds at the door. Noah cries. "Sorry," Alec apologizes through the door. "I call baby," Jace says and hops out of bed. I open the door to Alec. He is wearing boxers and doesn't have a shirt on. His hair is messy and he has bags under his eyes. "Are you okay?" I ask. "Magnus kept me up all night. I need to borrow your bed," he grunts and walks past me. "Hey, what are you doing?" Jace accuses. "Dude, you're not scary when you're holding a baby," Alec says and curls under the covers. Jace looks at me. I shrug and take Noah. "Hey, baby," I smile and walk out of the room. "Hey, baby, put some pants on," Jace says. "You didn't seem to mind when we were in bed," I tease and a chuckle comes from the bed. Jace glares at me and the lump of covers.
"Magnus, your boyfriend is in my bed so I am stealing yours," I say and lay down. "Alec said he was going to get breakfast," Magnus frowns and walks out of the room. I roll my eyes and start breastfeeding Noah. "Boys," I roll my eyes and he smiles up at me. "I know," I laugh and rub his little golden head. Jace peeks into the room and joins me. Noah presses his tiny hand on the middle of my chest.
