Even in the darkest of times,
There is someone who will be there for you.
(Kind of a volume 3 preview)
P.O.V. Yang
I was sitting in my dorm, just looking out the window. I didn't know what to do. I know what everyone thinks, but I didn't do anything to Mercury. He attacked me, I know everyone thinks different, but I know in my heart that it's the truth. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door, but I wasn't really in the mood to talk to anyone at the moment so I stayed quiet.
"Yang it's me, open up." I heard a familiar voice say from the other side of the door. I guess if there was anyone I wanted to talk to right now, it would be him. I stood up and walked over to the door before asking, "You sure you want to risk being seen with me?"
"Yang come on," the male begged, "I just want to talk." I let out a sigh before opening the door to reveal Raiden standing there holding a small glass in his hand with a little umbrella in it.
"I know it's your favorite, so..." Raiden said as he handed me the drink. I gave him a smile before stepping out of the way so he could enter the room. I took a sip of the drink and smiled at the unique flavor.
"Nothing quite like a Strawberry Sunrise." I told the boy as he sat down on the bed next to Zwei and scratched behind his ear, earning a happy bark from the pup. Up walked over and sat down next to him before he looked over at me and said, "Anything you want to talk about?"
"Well, I'm kind of wondering how you got this into the school," I told him, but then my face grew a stern expression before I said, "But I know that's not why you came here."
"You're right." Raiden confirmed before turning towards me. "Yang, I really don't want to believe what I saw out there actually happened." He said quietly.
"Well then don't." I said quickly, "I'm telling you, I'm telling everyone, HE attacked ME!"
"Okay, okay," Raiden said as he put his hand on mine, "Just calm down and let me finish." I took a breath before nodding at him, signaling for him to continue.
"As I was saying," He began, "I don't want to believe what I saw out there, And... I don't know, I just want to be there for you. What can I do, Yang?" I just looked into his dark blue eyes for a second before setting my now empty glass on the floor, then I wrapped my arms around him before saying, "You're already doing plenty." He didn't move for a second but he then wrapped his arms around me and lightly started stroking the back of my head, which admittedly felt pretty nice.
After a while, we had ended up laying down on the bed and just gazed into each other's eyes. "This is nice." He finally spoke after a while.
"Yeah, it is." I replied with a smile. I hadn't really thought about it before, but now that I was looking at him, Raiden was a really cute guy. He's obviously a caring guy, otherwise he wouldn't have come here today. I know he's strong because of the countless fights we've been in since we joined the academy. He's everything I look for in a guy, how was I only now just seeing this?
"Hey, Yang?" He said quietly.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now, but I guess I've always been to nervous to do it." He said, kind of looking away from me.
"Well, what is it?" I asked, my interest now piqued.
"Well, um, I think you're awesome, Y'know? Your smart, your beautiful, I actually think your puns are funny."
"I swear all of those are pun-intentional." I interjected quickly, making us both Laugh.
Raiden, after we finished laughing, said, "Yang, you're just... so amazing. I know this isn't the best time for you, but..."
"Rai, I know what you're trying to say." I told him, placing my hand on the side of his face.
"Oh, Well, um... Good." He said, "And, um, how do you feel about that?"
"You tell me." I replied. Then, I leaned in and pressed my lips to his. He was shocked at first, but he quickly relaxed and began to kiss back, moving his arms around my waist to bring me closer. I in turn snaked my arms around his neck as the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate. After a while, the need for air became to dire, so I broke the kiss, leaving us both panting in each other's arms.
"Is this a bad time?" We heard a gruff older voice ask. I looked over at the doorway to see my uncle Qrow standing there with his arms crossed as he looked down at us.
"Um, I think I should go." Raiden said sheepishly before he rolled out of bed and towards the door.
Before he could leave, Uncle Qrow put his hand on his shoulder and said, "Since you're one of my son's teammates, I'm gonna let this go, but if you ever hurt my niece, I swear, I will make you wish you were never born." There was an awkward silence for a few moments before Qrow burst out laughing.
"Oh, oh, you should've seen your faces!" He stated in between his laughter.
"Wait so...?" Raiden tried to ask, but wasn't really sure what to say.
Qrow slapped Raiden's back and said, "I'm fine with this kid, It's her dad you have to worry about." I let out a sigh of relief, That did seem a little out of character for Qrow.
"Alright, Well, you look like you have something you want to talk about, so I'll get out of your way." Raiden said to the older man before looking back at me and saying, "I'll see you later Yang."
"Right back at'cha." I replied with a wink before he left me and my uncle alone.
"He seems like a nice kid." Qrow said smiling at me.
"He is." I replied.
"Oh, wait a second I gotta call Tai real quick." He said as he pulled out his scroll. I quickly picked up a pillow and hurled it at him while screaming, "YOU ARE THE WORST!" Qrow laughed, and after a few seconds, I did as well.
