Silver's P.O.V
I was pacing back and forth across the terrace on top of the dorms. Tonight was the night, I was going to tell Akira how I felt about her and that I was dead set on staying here after the tournament was over. I had called her and asked her to come up here so I could tell her in private, but I was nervous as hell. I've had girlfriends in the past, but they never ended well for me, I either got cheated on or played by them. I'm not sure what it is, but I had a feeling about this girl, she was different, she wouldn't hurt me and I wouldn't hurt her.
Akira's P.O.V
I sat my scroll down on the couch arm and my Mom asked, "Who was that?"
I looked over at her and answered, "That was Silver. He asked me to come up to Beacon because he had something to talk to me about."
"Do you think everything is okay?" She asked as she muted the T.V. we were watching.
I shrugged my shoulders and replied, "I don't know. He sounded kind of nervous on the phone so I'm not sure." I stood up and said, "Well, I better go see what's up."
Mom then asked, "Okay, Well, um, just a suggestion, but are you gonna get changed first?" I looked down and realized I was just wearing on of Atem's old T-shirts and a pair of shorts, not exactly the most appealing display in the world.
"I'll be right back. Thanks Mom." I said with a smile before walking upstairs and into my room. I opened up my closet and started looking through trying to find something that looked good. Eventually, I settled on something nice and headed down the stairs.
"Have fun sweetie." Mom said as I slid my scroll into my one pocket and strapped my pistol to my hip. Didn't think I'd need it, but you can never be sure in this world.
I walked over to the door and said over my shoulder, "Not sure when I'll be back, so don't wait up." She nodded in reply before I shut the door and started walking up the street to the ship docks. I was really worried about what he was wanted to talk about. I really liked Silver, he was so nice and sweet, unlike all the other boyfriends I had in the past, especially considering the one turned into a power hungry psychopath who almost killed me. I quickly realized I was in front of the docking station and boarded a ship, mentally preparing myself for the conversation I was about to have.
Silver's P.O.V
It had been a while since I had called Akira, I started to wonder if she was actually gonna show up. But, my concerns were quickly alleviated when I heard a familiar voice say, "Hey you." I turned and saw Akira standing there wearing a tight red t-shirt, maroon leather jacket that stopped just under her chest, some black jeans and a pair of black sneakers. I noticed the silver necklace she was wearing that had the silver egyptian cross charm on the end, just like Atem.
"H-hey, A-Akira!" I greeted with a smile, mentally face palming myself for sounding so nervous.
She started walking towards me and asked, "So, what was it you called me up here for?" I stammered to find a response, she was giving me that sweet smile and looking at me with those bright crimson eyes. I swear, this girl could crash a plane with one look.
"Uh, w-well, you see, um..." I mumbled. Damn, I knew I was crashing and burning right now.
She reached up and put her hand on my arm and asked, "Is everything alright?"
I held up my hands and quickly replied, "Yeah, Yeah! Everything's f-fine! I j-just. I just, (sigh), wish I wasn't so bad at this."
She gave me a puzzled look and asked, "Bad at what? You're starting to worry me Silver." Damn it, I bet she's thinking I called her up here to tell her I don't like her. I had to do something fast or I would've blown this whole thing for myself. Then suddenly, a light went off in my head and I put my hands behind my back. I focused my energy into making a tangible form and quickly formed the shape I wanted. It only took a few seconds before it was complete, and after it was, I held it up in front of me to show her. She gazed in amazement at the red heart I had made with my name and her's fossilized on the inside.
"I'm not very good at this kind of thing," I said, "so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or not, but this... this heart... it shows how I feel... towards you that is." She looked up at me with a smile on her face as she took the heart in her hands and held it to her chest. I slowly worked my arms around her waist and said, "Akira, I've wanted to say this to you for a long time; I love you, more than anything else in this world, and after the tournament is over, I'm going to stay here."
She looked at me wide eyed and asked, "Really!?"
I nodded before reaching one hand up and placing it on her cheek. "Of course Akira, you're something worth staying for." I told her as we gazed into each other's eyes. Suddenly, I felt myself acting on instinct as I slowly started to lean in, and she did the same. After a few seconds, our lips connected, and it was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced. The kiss lasted for only a few seconds before I broke it. We just sat and stared at each other with nothing but happiness in our eyes. I was content, because she truly was something worth staying for.
