P.O.V. Celena

I slowly opened my eyes and found myself inside my quarters back at the hideout. I sat up in bed and yawned and stretched before the door opened and a familiar figure walked in. "Good morning, Lena." Kabal greeted, giving me his normal cheeky grin as he always did.

"Morning." I replied with a sleepy smile as I stood up and walked over to give him a hug. He wrapped his arms around me, not really tight but in a protective way, as if he was trying to protect me from everything that could do me harm.

"We have an early meeting today so we better getting going." He said to me as he pulled away and stood next to the door. I just nodded at him before walking over to the mannequin in the corner of the room and pulled down my assassin's hood, throwing it over my shoulders and pinning it to my shirt. I then grabbed my hidden blades from the tables next to me and slipped them into my wrist before turning and walking to the door where Kabal was waiting.

"Shall we?" He asked as he held the door open for her and let me step through. Stepping out into the hall made me feel like I had just stepped into a history book, mostly because the hideout looked like a renaissance period building with torches lining the walls and tapestries with our order's symbol emblazoned upon them. Kabal and I walked down the hall towards the initiation chamber where we always had our meetings and welcomed new members into the order.

As we walked into the room, we saw most of our comrades already standing in line on either side of the carpet down the middle of the room, so Kabal and I took our places next to each other right near the steps where our mentor always stood. Speaking of which, there he was, Écarlate Foncé, a tall man with short black hair and blue eyes and tan skin. He was wearing his formal assassin's robes while standing next to his assistant, only known to us as Albatross. Albatross was an odd fellow, he didn't say much to us, or anyone for that matter. He had shoulder length gray hair, dark gray eyes usually wore all black with a cloak that resembled gray feathers. What was even stranger about him was that he just seemed to show up one day, and no one questioned it. He was simply here with his tactical skills and his mysterious brown gem that looked as if it housed a small piece of stone on the inside.

After a while, Master Foncé cleared his throat and said, "Bon Journo, Mí assassini familía." We all crossed our right arms across our chests and bowed to him and returned his greeting. After a moment he said, "Today, we welcome a new face into our sacred order." He held up his hand and motioned towards the entrance to the room. We all looked that way and saw a figure enter the room slowly, he wore a white hoodie and black jeans with black sneakers, and strode towards Mentor Foncé as the older male recited our creed.

As the new recruit reached his position in front of the fire pit, the older male before him recited the final line of the creed, "We work in the dark, to serve the light. Nothing is true, Everything is permitted. We are Assassin's." The new recruit held out his right hand while Albatross picked up the branding prod from the flames and proceeded to burn our mark into his finger. The familiar sound of searing skin made me run my fingers over my own brand, remembering not so fondly how it felt when it happened to me all those months ago.

"Let us all welcome our newest addition to the order." Mentor Foncé said to us all as the new recruit turned and removed his hood, revealing a young male with long black hair, pitch black eyes and an innocent smile spread across his pale face. "Anson Woods, Welcome to the Assassins." Foncé said as he patted the boy's shoulder.

"Looks like a nice kid." Kabal whispered to me as Anson was led out of the room to perform the Leap of Faith.

"Yeah, but I'm not sure if he's exactly cut out for this." I replied as all of the other assassin's started to file out of the room.
