The Specials 2 [ON HOLD]

Juniper

So the next update system is obviously not working as you see.... I either a) forget that's the day I need to update or b) find out I'm actually really busy that day and then after that day I forget about the update :/. So I've decided to not do the system. Sorry... Uh anyways, to the chapter, Juniper-

I looked up with hope gleaming in my eyes.

"You must duel me- Without your powers still. True warriors don't need powers to succeed," The voice explained.

"Wait, you're a person?" I exclaimed.

"Yes," The voice replied.

I looked over to see the stone levitating. A huge glow appeared around the stone. I shielded my eyes from the site. When I looked back, I saw a girl around the age of 20.

Her hair was pure white like a pearl. It was wavy and went down to her waist. Her teeth were as white as could be too. Her armor was made out of pure gold, with the circular stone in the middle of it. Was she the stone, or did she own the stone?

I am the keeper of the stone, Juniper.

You can hear my thoughts?

Yes, Claire Denise. We are communicating telepathically.

"That's so cool!" I said out loud. The woman grinned.

Indeed it is, Ms. Denise. Now, we must battle.

Quick question.

Yes?

Why can't I use my powers for this battle?

Because, Claire- Not everyone is blessed with powers such as yours. A true warrior does not require powers to win, anyways. Now, get your weapons out and ready.

Juniper held out her hand and a glow started to form above her hand. I stared in awe at the sight as a weapon appeared in her hands. It was even more gleaming than my special sword I had made before the battle with Tornado.

It was not pearl white with a golden handle like mine, though. It was bronze, with a obsidian black handle. It glowed with a rainbow aura I had never seen before.

I had to have a better weapon if I wanted to win. Since there were no particular rules other than that I couldn't use my powers before the battle, I thought about a weapon. Maybe a bow would be suitable for a fight like this. I close my eyes and imagined the best bow I could think of.

Water and lava shot out of my hands and started swirling around. An obsidian bow started to form, floating right above my hands.

I thought of arrows with obsidian tips and vines wrapped all around the rest. 
I thought of all different types of arrows, ranging from ones that shot out vines to ones that would douse Juniper with water.

I opened up my eyes. It felt like I was more powerful with the bow grasped in my right hand. I rubbed my thumb over the obsidian and smiled. Now this would lead me to victory- Hopefully.

I thought of my armor next, which went by quickly as I had summoned my armor a lot before. I smiled as I remembered all the times Lulu, Sebastien and I dueled each other.

"Let us start," Juniper announced. She got into her stance, her sword pointed out. I got my arrow and set it onto my bow and pulled, ready to shoot.

"Let's do this," I thought. There was a little nagging thought that told me that if I didn't win, I would lose the stone. I would never revive Nick. But I had to ignore that. Right now, I needed my full focus on the fight, and if I felt nervous and pressured, it would affect my skill. I quickly pushed away the thought.

Juniper charged at me and I leaped over her whole height of 5' 9". My foot barely grazed her hair. I grinned. I jumped so high without my powers!

During my moment of distraction, Juniper kicked my leg, making me fall to the ground. I quickly did a somersault away from her sword and stood back up. I pulled my arrow back and released it. The arrow spiraled towards Juniper and hit her in the leg.

Blood started to pour out, but it oddly wasn't red like normal. It was black, just like the handle of her sword.

"What on Earth are you?" I screeched in shock.

Juniper answered, "I'm a shadow that has taken human form."

"Wait then can't I control you?" I asked. Juniper shook her head.

"I'm half shadow and half human, Shadow Queen," Juniper replied, grinning. I shook my head in amusement and grinned back.

We started to fight again. During that little pause of time I had strung back my arrow and was ready to shoot. Juniper leaped towards me, and I let my arrow fly and hit her in the arm. Juniper groaned as she fell to the floor.

I quickly ran over to Juniper. I pried her weapon out of her hands and put the sword against her neck.

"The stone now, please?" I asked with a victorious voice, as if I had just won a huge battle.

Juniper took her sword and got up. The shield around the stone started to disappear. I walked to the stone and picked it up.

I yelped as my face got blinded by light, but it soon went away. I looked in my hand and saw the gleaming stone.

Juniper came up behind me, and I saw that her wounds and my wounds were fully healed.

"I have to say, Ms. Denise, even without your powers you are powerful. Whenever you need help, call me by using the stone- So don't put it away even though you have used up all the power in it. The stone is also a calling device for me. When in need, just say 'Assistance needed' and it'll bring me to wherever you are. But remember, I can only come once, so use that wisely," Juniper explained.

I nodded immediately. I knew I most probably wouldn't need her help, but just in case if I did having her fighting beside me would be nice.

Buddy came up to me and did a dog smile.

Juniper looked at Buddy and commented," What a nice dog. Anyways, I must go now, Claire."

"Bye," I replied, and Juniper glowed and then went away.

"Let's go home, Buddy. It's been a long day," I said. I looked up to the sky to realize it was already the next day's evening. I hoped that my mentors wouldn't wonder why I took so long.

I started to walk down the mountain and towards our new home- Along with the stone and my new friend, Buddy.

I WILL BE SUPER BUSY THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, SO THERE WILL MOST PROBABLY NOT BE ANY UPDATES DURING THAT TIME. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
