He placed his hand over my mouth. He was freezing. Where did he come from? I was just down there, I would have seen him if he was there, how did I miss him, man was he cold. “When I take my hand off your mouth do not scream, do you understand?” I nodded. Suddenly I wasn’t sure if I should be happy I was still alive. Slowly he removed his hand and I did what he asked. I didn’t scream. He looked at me, really looked at me, like he saw me, the real me, then he took a step back. “You need to go, you need to get out of here, now!” He shouted the last part and I didn’t doubt him for a minute. “Umm, my leg, I’ve messed it up. Can you give me a boost and I’ll be out of your hair.” His nostrils flared as he took another drastic step back. “Stay away from me.”                                                                                          “Look, I don’t know what your problem is, but I’d be gone quicker if you helped me up.” At a snail’s pace he edged towards me. He shoved me an in two seconds flat I was back on the top of the bridge. “What the fuck?” I untangled my shirt from my neck and chucked it on the floor. I needed to get out of there before that psycho came looking for me. Who knew what he was doing down there? Who hangs out under a bridge apart from a troll or a crazy axe murderer?

I was about to find out. He’d caught up to me, scaling the bridge with ease. Where was Mike, I thought he’d gone to get help? I didn’t wait for his feet to firmly touch the ground before I ran. He wasn’t far behind me. My track practises weren’t in vain. “Please, I’m sorry, I didn’t see anything, just leave me alone.”                              “I wish I could but it’s too late, I can smell it, I can smell you.” What? Smell me.

I had two options, the over grown forest looking park or the straight and empty road. I chose the forest, there were more places to hide.
