I woke up with the world’s biggest headache. I had the craziest dream. “It wasn’t a dream.” The vampire dude was in my room sitting on the chair in the corner. “Hey.” Hey? Vampire pleasantries. I smiled back. “Hey.” My voice wavered a little. “Will you relax, I can hear your heart beating from here. If I wanted you dead you’d be dead, you said it yourself.”                                                                                                                                                                                            “So umm, so what are you doing here?” I asked as I sat up slowly and winced on behalf of my leg, my leg that no longer hurt... I drew back the comforter and rolled up my jeans leg. “My leg.” The blood was gone, the pain was gone. I glanced at him and he shrugged. “I healed you." Ok,right.                                                                            “Thank you?”

I stood up and slowly headed toward the door. “Right well, I’m sure you should be going now. People to eat and stuff.” I opened the door and he was in front of me in seconds. He pressed it shut and stared into my eyes. “Not tonight…how did you know what I am?” I shrugged.                                                                                               “A good guess.”                                                                                                                    “The truth. I’ve lived here for years and no one has ever asked, let alone told me.” I shrugged again, I was running out of answers. “Umm, I don’t know, too many vampire shows and books.”        

He laughed. “You’re very pretty.” He said, placing a lock of hair behind my ear and tracing my ear lobe. “Why aren’t you cold anymore?” I asked realising his touch didn’t scare me like it should have. “Because I have warm blood inside of me.” I gulped. My blood, he had my blood inside of him. “How did you find out where I live?” He bit his lip and leaned his head to one side.   “I entered your mind.”                                                                                                                                    “So you can read my mind?” He shook his head.                                                                                                                                                                 “No.”                                                                                                                                                 “But you just said.”                                                                                                                “I know, I can’t read it now, I could only get in when you were unconscious.”                                                                                                                    “Shall I tell you what I’m thinking?”                                                                                                                                                “I’d rather guess…your father’s still out, we’re home alone, I’m not going to kill you, and I don’t know why I’m still here with you.”                                                                                                                                                                “You said you couldn’t read my mind.”                                                                                                                                             “I couldn’t before, you must have let your guard down.”
