"No. Straight flat no."
"Well, you haven't dated anyone since freshman year!" "Yeah, and those hundreds and thousands of dates were all nightmares!" I turned around and gave her my angry look.
You have no idea how much money I wasted that year. I had to pay four hundred dollars once just because the girl couldn't stop eating.
"Please, for me?" Janelle said, giving me puppy dog eyes.
"Oh, so I'm Shrek now? Hi Puss!!" I said breaking into a run.
I was already halfway across the hallway when I heard Janelle shout after me. "You know, you have A LOT to learn about how you only find the right girl after dating hundreds and thousands! You haven't dated anyone in two freaking years!" she exclaimed.
Yup, she said it. I am in the senior year and I haven't dated anyone for two years. I guess I really do give up on finding the right one, if she even existed.
I burst into my Biology classroom and took a seat next to my partner, Jason.
"So, have you asked anyone out to the dance?"
I let my forehead fall straight on the table, creating a loud "Bang" but I did not care whether that left a mark on my head. I literally wanted to knock myself out, anything to keep my ears from hearing about that dreadful dance.
Jason sighed. "Look, why don't you ask Melanie? She's popular, pretty, and many people say she likes you!"
"EVERYBODY says EVERY GIRL likes me!! So, whether she likes me or not, makes no difference." I said, my head still on the table.
Just then, Mr Clapin walked in. "Mr Harrington, is the table your bed??" I sat up straight immediately. One time Jason slept in class, he went home with the painful mark of a ruler on his arm. Reina will probably make that mark worse by probing it 24/7. With a sister like mine, you never know what will happen.
"We will be working on the dissection of the sheep's heart today."
Good. Jason can just do everything because I am not touching that thing.
"I've heard you have dissected the heart before, Jason?" Mr Clapin said.
"That's correct."
"Good. That means you clearly know the procedures. Mr Harrington, please partner Miss Anderson for today, Kelly is apparently sick."
A girl that I have never spoken to? HAHA. Not in a million years.
"Mr Clapin, may I please use the - "
"Now, Conrad." he said, looking like he will take out the ruler any second.
It felt like I dragged a thousand weights behind me as I made my way to an empty seat on the front row. I plunged myself down on the chair and looked away from her.
"Corvene, do work closely with him."
Huh. Corvene Anderson. I have a feeling she will be talking to me so much we won't even be focusing on the dissection. I wish me good luck.
