The Hunger Games: Allies from the beginning

Chapter 5

We sit outside haymitches room me Katniss and Effie while we wait for news from the docter . Katniss keeps looking at me I do my best to oviod her glance but temptation gets the better of me.

I look in to those seam grey eyes reflecting my ocean blue ones Katniss speaks up

"It will be alright He will be alright" She grabs my hands and gives it a gentle squeeze I return it and she smiles at me. Effie looks at us and we instantly break apart.

"Come on Katniss you should get changed you stink you too Peeta" She gestures to me before walking out dragging Katniss behind her. Slowly I get up and plod to my room until I hear hushed voices coming from Katniss's room.

"I know you like him just admit it" Effie demands

"And if I do so what?" She replays sharply making me wince.

"So you do like him I knew it!" She squeals

"Effie shush!"

" Sorry dear so when did this crush start!?"

"Since I was 12 I bumped into him and he helped me pick my books up"

Flashback:

My friends had gone to break and I was walking back to my locker then I knocked into someone. Katniss. I knocked her books out of her hands. She crouched down to pick them up with me mirroring her movements.

"sorry" I mutter

"Don't worry it's fine I'm katniss by the way"

"Peeta" I reply "See ya around" I say walking off.

End of flashback

I quickly rush to my room. was she talking about me? well probs Cuz that situation happened when we were 12. OMG she has a crush on

me! I'm taken out of my thoughts when I hear a knock at the door.I open it revealing Katniss.
