Nagisa X Mermaid Reader

~1st Person~

"Get back here!" Meat-head guard #1 yells.

I swam as fast as I could. Why? Um... It might have something to do with the fact that I stole from the palace of Dranest, the merkingdom I am from. I know it was stupid to do so, but I really did need the supplies I stole.

"She went went this way! Follow me!" Meat-head guard #2 yells at his partner.

I swam to a corner and they swam right past me. They really are meat-heads. I calmly swam towards a crevice in the ocean floor. As odd as it may sound that's my home. The place I grew up. I stole from the palace in order to help the crevs, or people that live in the crevice.

They are, seemingly, the lowest of the low. People who live there are as equal as an ordinary sea plant.

"Cheif Fiorten! Cheif Fiorten!" I called as I glide through the door to the Cheif's cave.

"Yes, (y/n)? What news do you have for me today?" Cheif Fiorten gives me a closed eyed smile as he speaks.

"I brought you this. I-I am aware it is wrong to steal but I am just sick and t-tired of acting as a bottom feeder. P-picking up scraps of j-just about anything. Please forgive my greed." I quickly stutter and bow... Kind of.

I feel a hand on top of my head as I look up at the chief.

"There is nothing to forgive. You had the pure survival of the Crevs in your heart. It is a couragous thing you did." the Cheif tells me.

"Thank you so much Chief! Would you like me to do anything else?" a sparkle in my eyes.

"You can go out and explore. Just be careful of palace guards." Cheif warns.

"Thank you!" I swam out the cave opening.

"(Y/n)!" I hear a few voices call out to me as I started to swim out of the crevice, and I turned to see 6 little mers.

I smile at the 3 boys and 3 girls, "Hey! What are you doing out here?"

"We were looking for you. We were wondering if you can give us another lesson?" The eldest boy stated and asks.

I pet his little head, "it's gonna have to be a bit later."

"K!" they say and swim off to play.

It takes a while, but I swim a bit to the shore. Any land merfolk see is just called 'terra firma', but I've herd two-legs call this land "Japan". Odd.

I go to the floor to collect shells and other things along the floor. And sometimes I find other rare and unusual thing there too.

"Come on, Nagisa, I want to us tp actually do things at the beach before it gets dark," I hear a male voice in the distance.

I swim behind a rock to make sure I'm not seen. I'm just so nosy and curious.

"Aw come on Mako-chan, we have plenty of time to have fun. Right? Rei-chan?" I hear a second male voice but in a higher tone.

Then a third voice, with a confusing tone, spoke, "I don't believe we do. In order to do the rest of our training, we must get back in one hour."

Higher male voice spoke again, "Aww, boo!"

I peek my head, in the slightest bit, and saw a black, olive-brown, purple, and blond haired boys. Sure, they were all attractive in some way, but, to me, the one most attractive was the smaller blond.

I decided to swim near them for a little entertainment. They seem like fun.

Nagisa's POV

Ahh, a great day at the beach. But something feels off... Haru-chan is floating in the water while Mako-chan and Rei-chan were building some sand castles. So they wouldn't mind me exploring for a while, right? I just have this funny feeling. Not in a bad way thought.

As I walked along the shore, a great beach breeze hits me. In the quiet atmosphere, I hear a splash. At first I paid no mind but it was to big to be a regular reef fish. I looked out towards the open water and waited to see what it was. After a few minuets of looking out into the open water, nothing showed. I continued my walk as before. Just then, I herd a female's voice.

"Yes! I found 2 sand dollars! That's good luck!" I turn towards the voice to see a beutiful girl(or other) with shinning (h/c) hair floating behind her, and I could barely see her eyes but they seemed to be a (e/c) kind of color.

She turned towards the beach and saw me standing there staring at her. My cheeks heated up ad I realized she saw me looking for far too long. The girl then looked scared and sunk back into the water. I tried to search for her to see when she would resurface. Did I ALREADY screw up?!

~1st Person~

'What have I done!? How could I have been so careless!!? Stupid (y/n), stupid!!' I mentally yelled at myself.

I was about to swim back home until I heard the familiar male's voice. "Hello? Are you ok?!" The young male asked.

'Is he... Worried about me?' I asked myself but quickely dismissed it.

I peeked my head, slightly, out of the water, only to see the boy sitting on a rock to better search. Luckly, the shadow of the rock hid my tail.

The boy looked at me with big, innocent, magenta eyes, "Are you ok, miss? Do you need help getting out?"

"No thank you, I'm fine. Why were you so worried about me, exactly?" I asked, still on my guard.

He responded with a closed eyed smile, "Well how can I not worry about a beautiful girl like you? Even if you have a tail, I just wanted to make sure you were safe."

"Yea... I suppose.... Wait! What!? You knew? How?! I thought it was hidden well enough!" I began to ramble and panic all at once.

Nagisa chuckled at my behavior, "Calm down, it's ok. I won't say anything. I noticed because I can pay attention to details [no pun intended] decently well."

My eyes widdened in happiness, "Thank you so much! And I'm more of an observer as well!"

~Third Persona~

Both continued to talk MUCH longer than either anticipated. Their friendly chatter was stopped by the rest of the Iwatobi team calling for their blond companion.

Magenta stared into (e/c) and vise versa. But Nagisa was the first to speak, "I guess I should head back. I actually REALLY liked hanging out with you."

"The feeling in mutual. We should do this again. How's two suns from now? [2 days]" The girl looked at him with hope glittering in her (e/c) orbs.

"I would love to," the blond replied.

Both parties left, hoping their reunitement would come sooner than expected. And... a tiny spark of something more blinked in the hearts of both as they were oblivious of the feeling... For now.

Hey, I know it's been a REALLY long time, but I finally got something in! I have ACTUALLY been busy, which is weird cause usually I sit at home like the sack of potatoes I am. Also, I really haven't been having the motivation. But I don't want to be another book that gets abandoned. I will update, it's just going to take time to do. I hope you understand and enjoy.
