(3rd Person POV)

"I-... Me? What?!" (y/n) yelled at the 2 males in front of her.

"Yes. We want you to work on the Kira case with us," 'Ryuzaki' said as Light stood beside him with a shocked expression.

So I guess Light didn't know either. But how the Hell did it come to this?!

(This morning)

"Ok mom, I'm off to class. I'll text you if anything comes up and I don't come straight home." (y/n) called out to her mom.

"Ok, honey. I'll be going to work later but still text me."

(Y/n) left and locked the door. As she entered the school building, she saw her childhood friend, Light, and went towards him.

"Hey (y/n)!" Light waved and motioned her to come closer.

"Hey Li-"

"Liiiiiiight, honey!!!" An ear spliting voice cut off (y/n)'s voice.

(Y/n) cringed and Light rolled his eyes.

"Light, who is this slut?" Someone you don't even know, is insulting you. Great.

Light glared at the girl for a split second. "Watch it, Misa. This is (y/n). (Y/n), this is Misa-"

"His girlfriend. So what are you to him?" Misa scoffed at (y/n).

"Light's childhood friend. It's ok, Misa. I don't intend on stealing him from you." (y/n) calmly told Misa.

Damn! Light yelled in his head.

"Misa, I need to talk to you. Now." Light said seriously.

"Ok Light!" Misa followed Light.

"So you're Light's friend?" A voice behind you spoke. You turned around and saw a guy with black hair and eyes, and poor posture. He's wearing a plain white T-shirt and jeans.

"Yea. I'm (y/n). You?" (Y/n) asked looking at him with a questioning look.

"Ryuzaki. Nice to meet you." Ryuzaki gave a small smile.

But unknown to the both of you Light looked lovingly at (y/n), but sent glared, that could kill, at Ryuzaki.

L and Light caught each other's look. Only one thought came to mind. Only I can love her.
