Chapter 5: Happy Birthday Addie!

Nova's POV

Planning a birthday is probably the most exhilarating feeling ever, but what's better is seeing the expression on Addie's face when she realizes what's happening. 3rd December 2002. The day the world decided there wasn't enough she-devil-ness and gave birth to Addison Scott.

And today, to rejoice the fact, I had planned a full day of birthday fun. Well actually six hours of birthday fun but it's the same thing. I had made about a dozen clues and hidden them in numerous places all over the campus and Addie was going to have hell in finding them. When she arrived in the morning, I had placed a chocolate, a piece of paper with her name and the first clue:

Morning love,

Here's how it's going to be:

You'll find some clues,

Obviously planted by me

The expression on her face was truly amazing The way she bit her lower right lip and smiled. Twirling around to catch the expression on my face –of course she got nothing considering my unbelievable acting skills.

"Novaaaa"

"Addieee" I continued to act innocent

"What is this?"

"I don't know. What is it?" I snatched it from her hand and began reading it aloud

"I know you did this. Theres no one else in this entire class who using these words"

"You mean no one else uses Morning, clues, obviously etc etc?" I raised an eyebrow

"You know what I mean"

"I really don't, Love" I smirked

"See you did it fight there. You called me love just like in the clue"

"Well If I were to be the one behind this then I would suggest you skip accusing me get to work"

She smiles and looks down at the clue once more. This time, she reads it aloud making me smirk once more. "Hmm..." She does the thing that she does when she's deep in thought; eyebrows scrunched, lip biting, eyes narrowed, looks kind of cute.

"Come on Addie, you're smarter than this. Read between the lines."

"You'll find some clues, obviously planted by me" she reads once more

"Obviously" I add to get her to take the hint

"Planted. It's in some pot isn't it? Guess I'm going to have to get my hands dirty"

"guess you do" I smirk.

We rush to the basement where all the pots are and Addie carefully analyzes them. I expected her to use a different method because... well, let's be honest, I doubted her intelligence. But you can't blame me! If you spent a day with her, you'd understand why I say so (no offense Addie)

She searches for any mud out of the pot of any uneven patches before finding the one in which the next clue was hidden. Instantly, her hand finds it and she takes it out.

It gets a little lonely,

All these empty rooms,

Just watching the hours tick by...

"Click clock click clock, Do you wanna build a snowman Nova?" she teases, having instantly understood the reference

We rush to our classroom and she immediately finds the clue behind the clock.
