My Girlfriend's a Werewolf?!

Chapter 2: Lies

 Jade's P.O.V. 

 The next day I met Max in the cafeteria where we ate breakfast together. I introduced Max to my friends and Drake, who never properly met him yesterday in second period, when he almost exposed us. Max and the others seemed to like Max and accepted him as a friend into our little group we had going on. My friends and I aren't really that popular, so we made our own little group. From my experiences yesterday, Max was such an easy person to talk to and get along with. 

 Max's P.O.V. 

 The next morning I met Jade in the cafeteria. She introduced me to her friends and her brother for the second time, since we hardly met yesterday when things got a little strange. Anyways I instantly made some new friends. Jade was one of the easiest people to get along with and talk to in the group. If I had anything to say, she would sit there and listen. Jade was a great friend to be with. I couldn't help but think I was starting to get a crush on her. 

 Jade's P.O.V. 

 Max is such a great guy and obviously really cute. I feel like I can tell him anything and I feel like I can trust him. In phys-ed class I sat on the bench putting on my sneakers, when Max came over and sat next to me. 

"Hey Jade." He chimed. 

"Oh, hey what's up?" I answered. 

"The phys-ed teacher told me we were playing basketball. Wanna be my partner?" Max asked. 

"Sure!" I answered. The phys-ed teacher always wants to do practice rounds whenever we play a game, so he has us pick partners to practice with. When the time came for the whole class to play the game the teacher blew the whistle, and called us over and told us who was on each team. Max was on mine. Soon the game started and I went to make a shot, until another student came and knocked me over, and I fell. Max quickly ran to my side and helped me up. 

"Are you okay?" Max asked sympathetically, as he grabbed my hand. 

"Yes. I'm fine." I laughed. "It takes a lot more than that to get me down!" 

"Good." He smiled back. "I didn't want to see you hurt." He gushed. See? What did I tell you? He's an awesome friend! 

 Max's P.O.V. 

 When I saw that other student knock Jade to the ground, I felt a sort of anger well-up inside of me. I quickly ran to her and helped her back up. I asked her if she was okay, and I was relieved to hear she was okay. We spent the rest of the day talking as usual. I was happy when I was around Jade. She was always there when I needed help or when I wanted to talk everyday. Since we became friends we never left each others side. It was almost as if we were stuck to each other, but all I knew was that she was my best friend, and the best one I could ask for. 

 One day Jade and I were in language arts class talking, when a guy walked in. He was tall with brown hair and brown eyes. I knew it was Jade's other brother, Shawn because Jade and him looked a bit alike with a little bit of Drake mixed in. 

 Jade's P.O.V. 

 When Max had turned his head, I had shifted my eyes over to the direction he was looking. In the doorway stood my brother, Shawn. It was somewhat painful to look at him, for he had our dad's facial structure, and our mom's eyes. 

"Hey, Jade ready to go?" Shawn asked. I got up out of my seat, and hugged my brother. 

"Yes." I replied. 

"Wait, where are you going?" Max asked, looking into my eyes. 

"Drake and I have to go somewhere." I explained, as Drake stood up, and walked up to stand next to me. 

"Oh. Okay." Max replied. 

"See you tomorrow, Max." I said leaving the room. 

"Bye." I heard him call back. It kind of hurt me to leave him because when you're a werewolf and you imprint on a person, you feel like you have to guard them and protect them with your life, and leaving that person feels like being punched in the stomach. I also felt horrible because I had sort of lied to him. When I had said I was going somewhere, I could tell he took it as an appointment or something, which was good because that covered my secret, but bad because I hadn't been honest and hadn't told him where I was going. I was really going hunting with my brothers again. Last night our hunt wasn't very successful, but Shawn had told me that this was the best time to try again, since the deer would be looking for food or something at this time. But on the bright side, I would see Max tomorrow.
