Jade's P.O.V.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe Max saw me like that! I never wanted him to find out, and now I don't know what to do. I can't go back to find him, he probably doesn't even want to be around me anymore, because he'll be too scared! I ran through the woods, as Max, with his look of horror kept showing up in my mind, as tears ran down my furry cheeks. I didn't know where I was going, but all I knew was that I wanted to get as far away from Max as I could.

I was running out of breath, and I had to stop for a rest. I found a tiny field, where I phased back into human and sat in the grass. I hid my face in my hands and cried even harder. I picked my head back up, and wiped the tears from my face. I decided to call my brothers and tell them I won't be coming home. There is no way I can go back home now that Max knows! I fished the phone from my pocket and dialed my brother's number.

"Hello?" Shawn's voice came through the phone.

"Hi." I answered, fighting back tears that threatened to escape again.

"Jade, what's wrong?" Shawn answered, suddenly concerned.

"I'm not coming home!" I cried.

"What?! Why not?!" Shawn said.

"It's nothing, I'm just not coming home." I said again.

"No. Please come home, tell me what happened!" Shawn answered.

"I have to go." I said, tears escaping my eyes again.

"NO! Don't hang up!" Shawn said.

"I love you guys." I replied.

"No, don't-" Shawn's voice cut off, as I hung up. I phased back into my wolf and continued to run.

Max's P.O.V.

The next day I went into class, but Jade wasn't there. I was really worried about her. I went up to Drake and asked where Jade was, but he said he didn't know, and that she didn't come home last night. Okay, now I was really worried. "I hope she's okay." I told Drake.

"I do too, but don't worry. Wherever she is she can take care of herself." Drake answered, picking up a book.

"Right." I said calming down a bit remembering what had happened yesterday. "She is a huge wolf anyway." I continued. Drake dropped his book, and it fell to the floor with a thud.

"What?!" Drake said. He looked like he was about to hyperventilate.

"Yeah, I found out. I knew she was hiding something from me!" I said "That explains the weird growling noise in Phys- ed class, when you annoyed her. And the wolves in the field that I saw were you guys!" I continued. Drake suddenly looked at me with wide eyes.

"That explains why she didn't come home!" Drake said. I gave a confused look.

"What?" I asked.

"Last year, there was a new student who attended this school. Her name was Kristin. Jade and Kristin were best friends, and they did everything together. One day Kristin saw that Jade was a werewolf, and she got really scared. Jade tried talking to Kristin about it, but Kristin kept pushing Jade away. She was too scared to be around her anymore. A couple days after that, she moved away. Jade never wanted you to find out, because she was scared you'd do the same thing.... Not want to be with her anymore. She thought you'd be too scared to be around her, if you ever found out." Drake explained.

"I'm not scared! Of course I'll still want to be around her, I love her..... I just wish I could've told her that before she ran away." I replied. Throughout the whole day, I kept seeing a clear picture of Jade in my head. Soon school was over, and I walked home still thinking about Jade.

It was a couple days later, and there still hadn't been any sign of Jade. I was still really worried about her, but I knew she could protect herself and hunt if she's hungry. The whole day I thought about her. I decided after school I would go look for her, and bring her back, no matter how long it took. When school ended, I took off towards the woods.

Jade's P.O.V.

I hadn't been home for three days. The clear picture of Max standing there in shock kept appearing out of nowhere in my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about him. All I could think about was him being too scared to come near me, like my old friend Kristin had done. I have been roaming the woods, not really knowing where I was going. A few moments later, I found a stream, where I stopped to drink and relax on the banking. I was about to close my eyes to sleep, until I heard footsteps. When I turned my head my eyes went wide, and my ears went back in fear, as I quickly stood up to run.

Max's P.O.V.

I had been walking through the woods for hours and still hadn't found any sign that Jade had been around the areas that I had wandered through. A few minutes later, I found a stream and the wolf I had been looking for. I was so relieved to see her unharmed and safe. When Jade saw me she got up to run away again. "Wait!" I cried. "Don't run Jade. I want to talk to you!" I added. Jade didn't do anything, until she finally spoke.

"Go ahead say it!" She exclaimed, tears starting to run down the silver fur on her face. "I'm a freak, and you don't want to be around me anymore, because you're too scared of me!" She continued.

"No. Baby, please don't cry. I'm not scared, and you're not a freak!" I said, walking over to Jade, placing a hand on her face, and wiping the tears from her fur. " You're beautiful. I love you no matter what!" I added. Jade relaxed and calmed down a bit. I pet the soft fur that covered her head. "You're beautiful." I said again, smiling and looking into her beautiful blue eyes. "I love you, baby." I said.

"I love you too, Max!" Jade barked. I smiled and continued to pet her soft fur. I sat down, as Jade lied next to me and rested her head in my lap.

"What was the whole 'baby' thing about?" Jade asked. I smiled at her and told her that it was just a nickname that I wanted to try out. Jade giggled at me and told me it sounded good. We sat near the stream for a few moments until I decided to bring her home.

"I should get you home." I said.

"Okay." Jade replied. "I do want to see my brothers again." She added getting up. "Hop up, I'll give you a ride." Jade said. At first I was confused, but then I realized she was offering me a ride on her back.

"Are you sure you're strong enough to carry me?" I asked. Jade gave me a 'are you kidding me?' look and stared into my eyes.

"Max. I'm a huge werewolf. I'm stronger than a bear, I'm pretty sure I can carry you!" She laughed. I returned the laugh and climbed on, settling my self on Jade's back.

Jade's P.O.V.

Max mounted my back, and I took off running towards home. When we arrived, I phased back into human after Max had climbed down. Max knocked on the door, and Shawn came to answer it. Shawn looked happy to find me standing with Max. He and Drake both gave me bear hugs and said how happy they were to see me. I missed them so much, I couldn't help, but cry. My brothers and I thanked Max for bringing me home. I hugged Max, as he kissed my head.

"See you tomorrow, baby, I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I smiled, as I wiped tears from my face. I was so tired and relieved to be back home with my brothers. I gave them both a hug, kissed them on the cheeks, told them I loved them, and went to bed.
