Chapter 2- Crimson Eyes

*Gajeel's POV*

I darted off into the direction where the cries of distress were coming from. Turning into a clearing of what used to be a town centre, I see a woman being grabbed at by four, foul men. Before I can even announce my presence, the annoying little shrimp I had encountered just a few moments ago, rushes over to them without any hesitation. I watch in curiosity at what she was doing.

"Let go of her, you sick perverts!" She roars at them.

They turn to her, dropping the woman a few steps away from her. The look in there eyes showed that they wanted the little shrimp for something other than food. Grinding my teeth I begin walking forward, getting my axe out.

"You're a cute one. Haven't seen one this good looking for a while. How 'bout you Farley?" One says getting closer to her.

"Oh, you flatter me. But is that anyway to talk to the woman that's about to decapitate you?" She pouts out innocently.

As the first one darts towards her, I take out the second one, dismembering him very swiftly. I look up to see if the small woman is still alive and damn was I surprised. She had pushed him back with the back of her blade before signalling for him to come closer. She moved naturally, never taking her eyes off him.

He barged into her knocking her off her feet through mid air, she flipped back and landed on her feet. Before running at full speed and swishing her blade right across his neck, decapitating him like she promised. I was mesmerised by this woman.

It hit me all at once. It was her. She was the rogue they talked about. I charged forward lodging my axe into the head of the third man while, the rogue plunged her blade into the heart of the fourth.

She was covered in blood but she didn't seem to mind, she walked over to the terrified woman who lay naked on the floor.

"Let me help you." She whispered gently, helping her up.

She gave the woman her clothes back and indicated her to go get changed, where she could see her, in case anymore men approached.

After she had finished the conversation with the woman, I walked over to her.

"So you're the rogue" I said coldly, staring her down.

"Perhaps, if that's what they call me." She said quietly. She had completely changed her attitude, maybe she doesn't see me as a threat anymore.

"We need to get that woman to my compound, I have two comrades ahead of me, we could catch up to them." I offer.

She nods but she looked pained while doing so.

"If we must, for her sake" the rogue whispered looking over at the woman who was putting on her hoodie.

"I'm Gajeel Redfox. Commander of Compound One, most other compounds have been wiped out so the number doesn't mean much anymore." I introduce myself gruffly.

"I'm Levy, Levy Mcgarden. At least that's what I think my last name is." She mutters.

"We should get going before anymore show up." I tell her, she nods again before walking over to the blonde woman.

"Come on, I'm going to take you somewhere safe. I'm levy, by the way" she tells her soothingly.

"L-Lucy" she replies walking in sync with Levy, who now joins my side.

We walk through endless weaves of deserted streets until we get onto a road, it takes us two more hours before we hear the voices of my two comrades.

"I wonder where that iron-headed idiot has got too" I hear Juvia mutter to Natsu.

"Right here." I shout to them. They turn around and look at me in confusion.

"Don't tell me you brought guests" Natsu groans.

"Just shut up and help Lucy" I order pointing to the blonde woman who looks severely injured.

He sighs before walking over and picking her up and carrying her infront of Levy, Juvia and I.

It wouldn't take so long to get back to the compound. As we walked, I couldn't help but look at Levy as she answered all of Juvia's questions. She looked so delicate, so small, yet she takes down cannabilistic men daily . She really was something else. I sighed, just another weapon for the compound, nothing more.

"So Levy, any family?" Juvia causally asked, forgetting that people outside the compounds are unlikely to have any living family.

Levy tensed up and closed her eyes, forcing herself to relax. "I-I don't think so..." She says softly, but the look in her eyes; she was in pain.

"That's enough questions, Juvia. Don't you want to get back faster so you can see Gray?" I asked knowingly, as her eyes glazed over.

"Gray-sama is going to be my husband soon." Juvia gushed to Levy, smiling like a crazy woman.

"That's wonderful, I- I didn't think weddings still happened." Levy shyly murmured.

"Yes, you can come! I'd love it if you did, we're already starting to become great friends, I can feel it!" Juvia shouted in excitement.

Levy smiled widely and nodded. It made me happy to see that she was fitting in already, maybe then she wouldn't want to leave the compound after she gets Lucy there.

Speaking of compound, we had arrived at the gates. Walking closer, I went and pressed the electric buzzer.

"Name, age and rank" A bored voice boomed out the speaker.

"Gajeel Redfox, 21, Rank 1" I awaited for the next question.

"Comrades?"

"Juvia Lockser, 19, Rank 4. Natsu Dragneel , 20, Rank 1"

"Any recruits?

I looked over at levy and she walked over to where I was standing, bring Lucy with her.

"Levy Mcgarden, 19, Rank not specified." She said clearly and then nodded to Lucy.

"L-Lucy Heartfilia, 20, Rank not specified"

We all stepped back and waited for the compound doors to open. Juvia and Natsu walked in naturally, Levy and Lucy stood still unsure whether to go in.

I nodded at them in reasurrance, I don't do smiling. Signalling for them to follow my lead, I walked in.

"Welcome to your new home, we call this compound: Fairy Tail."

Chapter 2 is now up! This will mainly focus on Gajeel and Levy so there will be no chapters on Nalu, Gruvia or Jerza. However, I will include them in some chapters and they will progress with Gajeel and Levy throughout the book😊 Enjoy😘
