-Levy's POV-

I stormed across the compound to the block of apartments and shoved my key into the lock. It took all the restraint in me to not punch Reina in the face. She was a waste of energy and I wouldn't hit her, that was what she wanted. I'd never give someone like her the satisfaction.

I did my daily katana practice before getting changed. I decided to go to the pub for a few drinks, although the last time I had been there things hasn't panned out so well.

I strolled through the quiet streets, everyone inside. It was a common rule here that must be kept. No one outside of a building after 10pm without company. I had been outside these gates with no one, no protection and just myself to rely on and I wasn't dead so I didn't feel the fear others did.

As I walked in, slow music was playing and members of the compound were laughing and talking. Juvia was dancing with Gray, they swayed his hands on her hips.

I looked to see Natsu and Lucy in the corner, he seemed to be whispering sweet nothings in her ear, she was blushing as he leaned over and kissed her gently.

Erza and Jellal were also dancing across the room from Juvia and Gray but Erza had her arms around Jellals waist, her face tucked into his neck as they moved from side to side, he kissed her gorgeous red hair.

A tight pain filled my chest as I realised, I would never have something like they did. I was wearing jeans and a top, unaware that there would be a dance. Not like I had anyone to dance with.

"Hey Levy, come sit here!" Mira-Jane called who was sat next to Laxus with a few pints of beer.

I walked over awkwardly, my arms wrapped around myself. I sat beside the place Mira-Jane had patted for me to sit down in.

"It's nice to see you in here. Are you going to join the dance?" She asked her eyebrow raised with a smirk.

"Look at me. I don't really have the clothing for it." I laughed softly gesturing to my clothing.

"I can fix that. Come with me!" Mira-Jane hummed giving Laxus a kiss on the lips she took my hand and took me to the back of the pub.

"This would fit you." She said with a satisfied smile as she pulled out a short red dress with black heels.

"I-I don't think that's necessary." I stuttered out. No way anyone could see me like that.

"Put it on." Mira-Jane demanded in a strict tone.

I got changed, the dress was revealing and I felt quite self conscious as I stepped out to show Mira-Jane.

"Doesn't she look gorgeous, Juvia." Mira-Jane gushed.

"You look beautiful Levy, let your hair loose." Juvia said softly nodding at me as I took the band out of my hair.

"She looks perfect." Mira-Jane murmured as Juvia nodded in agreement.

"Time to show yourself off." Juvia said with a smile as they both shoved me out of the back of the pub.

I walked around to the counter and ordered an orange juice. Fuck being drunk, we know what happened last time.

I sat alone as another song played, Natsu and Lucy had joined the dancing and I smiled encouragingly at Lucy as she shyly accepted his hand.

I was about to leave when someone cleared their throat. I turned to see Gajeel, his cheeks tinted pink as he smiled at me.

This guy was bipolar.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm sure Reina would like to dance, but I think I'll pass." I said with an edge in my voice as I got up to leave.

I was still hurting. All I thought about was that kiss and the feeling of his embrace, it felt so loving and warm. But Gajeel would never belong to me. He was Reina's and Reina was his. I would not get in the way of that.

"Just one dance." He said desperately grabbing my hand and looking into my eyes. His crimson red eyes held determination.

"One dance?" I questioned fighting off a smile and raising my eyebrow.

"Would I lie to you, shrimp?" He asked with a laugh and a smile that made my heart soar.

I held his hand and walked to the dance floor.

As soon as I held onto his arm and held his hand, I realised are height difference was going to make this quite awkward.

I blushed at the realisation that I wasn't tall enough to wrap my arms around his neck and hide my bright red face.

"You alright shrimp?" He asked me as I looked down at my feet.

I looked up and smiled still feeling awkward.

"Yes I'm fine" I said softly even though my stomach was flipping.

Without warning me Gajeel picked me up in his arms and swayed with my legs wrapped around his waist.

"You can bury your face in my neck, if you're really that shy Levy." He said with a soft chuckle.

I snuggled into his neck as the sweet slow music played. I felt him run his hand through my hair.

"You look beautiful." He murmured so quietly it was almost inaudible but I was sure I heard it.

When the song had finished he put me down and thanked me for the dance before turning around getting ready to leave.

As he walked out, I was debating on whether I should go after him. I was about to stay and pretend that the dance meant nothing but I just couldn't.

Something was drawing me to him and I'd be damned if I let this moment go. So I ran out after him my dress swishing in the wind and I tried to catch up. My little legs doing over time.

"Gajeel!!" I called.

"Gajeel wait!" I gasped out as I grabbed onto the back of his suit.

He turned round surprised and stopped in his tracks, staring at me like I was something he couldn't quite work out.

"Did you just come all that way, just to ask me for a dance?" I asked him, breathing heavily.

"Uh, yeah. I did, kind of. I mean I was in the area." He blabbered looking anywhere else but me.

"I knew you cared for me. Even just a little Gajeel. I'm glad we're friends." I grinned at him happily.

Without thinking I jumped on him gripping him round the neck. We both fell down with a thud.

We were so close, our faces almost touching. My lips just millimetres away from his. My face grew hotter, if that's even possible.

"Fuck, you're driving me crazy." Gajeel growled.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"W-"

His lips smashed into mine, his hands tangling into my blue curls. I gasped in shock but kissed him back, my eyes clothing as I hummed softly. I missed his soft lips.

He pulled away, moving a strand of hair out my eyes. He kissed down my neck. I was so red, luckily the streets were secluded following the rules. I looked down to see he had left a few hickeys on my neck.

"That means you belong to me." He growled possessively.

With that he got up, lifting me with him. I was speechless as he kissed me on the forehead and winked at me.

"See you around, small frie." He said smiling.

Then he was gone. My heart was racing.

What did this mean for me and Gajeel?

*******

So Gajeel finally steps up to the plate.
Pretty sure there will be more Reina and Levy rivalry...
