*Levy's POV*
I woke up crying, the pain I was feeling was unbearable. I tried to muffle the screams so Gajeel wouldn't wake up but the first scream was enough. Barging through the door, Gajeel looked around the room in panic. I lay there holding back tears, biting my lip.
"Levy?" He said confused.
I let out another painful scream and sat up. This made Gajeel run to his bedside and pull the covers off, pulling up the bit t-shirt I was wearing.
"We need to get you back to the Hospital." He barked out.
"N-no, the doctor said this would happen, it will happen because I'm putting pressure on the wounds and it's impossible not too, the blade went right through me." Levy said as she calmed down.
I slowly lay back down and closed my eyes. I was in so much discomfort.
"What do you want for breakfast?" Gajeel asked softly as he sat at the edge of his bed.
"Um, pancakes and a glass of orange juice, please." I said shyly.
Gajeel smiled a little before turning to go downstairs into the kitchen. When he had left I scooted over to the edge of the bed and sat up. I was breathing very heavily, I then stood, my legs shaky. I managed to make it to the bathroom which was an improvement. Yesterday I couldn't even stand for longer than two seconds without Gajeel's support.
I carefully got into the shower, washed my hair, my body and shaved. It hurt like hell, but I needed to push it. I wasn't in too much pain to not mind Gajeel seeing me in the nude, no way in hell would it happen again! I felt a blush rise as I felt his muscular chest against my back. I rolled my eyes, typical Levy.
I stepped out and picked up my toothbrush and brushed my teeth and the wrapped a towel around me, dried and got changed into jeans and a plain orange tank top with combat boots. It was killing my insides, I thought I'd explode but it was nothing that I didn't deserve, I let my parents die...
I stumbled to the edge of the bed but I didn't have the strength to pull myself up. I heard the click of a door and Gajeel came in with a stack of pancakes, syrup and a glass of orange juice. He put them down on the counter next to the bed and lifted me up and seated me back down. Turning to leave I let out an involuntary "wait!"
"Where are you going?" I asked curiously.
"Downstairs for breakfast." He muttered dismissively before continuing downstairs.
"Gajeel!" I called. I heard his footsteps stop on the stairs and then he came back up into the doorway. He waited for me to speak.
"Please let me eat with you." I mumbled. With that he carried me down while I held the pancakes and syrup, with Gajeel's free hand he held the orange juice.
We sat in a comfortable silence eating our breakfast when Gajeel went to sit on the couch, switching on the tv and putting on a DVD.
"Y-you shouldn't do that..." I started, Gajeel started laughing.
"They're humans still, not zombies. They know this is a compound we're just heavily protected." Gajeel chuckled, shaking his head.
Hesitantly, I sat beside him and began watching the film with him. We were watching The Equaliser. I couldn't help put glance at Gajeel every once in a while. After the film had finished Gajeel turned to me and asked me a question, I prayed no one would.
"What happened to you?" He asked looking me straight in the eyes to see my reaction to the question.
I averted my eyes as the headache and sadness resurfaced. Closing my eyes I clenched my fists.
"Please, don't make that face." Gajeel spoke softly stroking my face.
I opened my eyes and stared into his Crimson ones and without hesitation, I said what had been haunting me for 11 years.
"I killed my parents." I said quietly looking down in shame.
"Killed your parents?" He asked confused.
"Many men, barged into our home, we had secured it but there were just so many. M-my mother and father, they fought to protect me, I was only eight years old but I couldn't leave not even when they screamed and begged me too! I grabbed my blade and r-ran at one man, shoving my blade into his chest b-but, I-I distracted my father and another man sunk there blade into his arm, he urged me to leave and after hearing the h-horrified screams of my mother come to an eerie silence, I s-scampered out. T-the last thing I s-saw was many knives piercing t-through my fathers chest straight through to h-his back." By the time I was finished I was crying heavily and shaking, I was so fragile.
Gajeel scooped me up and held me close, kissing my forehead.
"That's not your fault, Levy. They died because they wished for you to live." He softly said.
"I-I promised myself, I'd get stronger and kill every tainted bastard I encountered and that I'd never feel emotions again." I said monotonously.
"I believe you couldn't help the last part and that's what separates us from them." Gajeel said still holding me.
I felt so safe in his arms, I sense of belonging that I hadn't felt since I lost my parents, this was bad. I couldn't seem to pull away though. I scooted up and buried my face into his neck, breathing in his scent. Gajeel lay back on the couch and ran his fingers through my hair. I felt myself falling asleep so slowly, I felt so protected, I held him back tighter, praying that when I awoke, he was still here.
We both jolted up at the sound of heavy, loud banging on the front door. I moved off Gajeel rubbing my eyes sleepily and watched him go to the door. Erza walked in with a sad look on her face. She walked closer to me and sat down.
"L-levy I'm so sorry, I didn't mean too-" she started but I cut her off.
"Don't blame yourself Erza, I had planned it out but I'm okay now. I won't be pulling anything like that again." I said sincerely.
She hugged me gently and then jumped up. "You're rank 1, I thought you should know. Your skills are incredible, I felt you weren't even going all out either. I look forward to fighting along side you" Erza said respectfully before turning to leave.
"I'll see you later at the pub?" Erza offered.
"Indeed you will" I said with a smile.
After she left Gajeel looked at me in surprise. "Your injuries aren't supposed to be healed enough yet..." I sighed and lifted up my top, showing him the bruises that had almost faded.
His eyes widened in what seemed like realisation before he turned away. "I can't explain it but, I'm healed near enough. I just woke up and felt no more dull pain." I said happily.
"That's good." Gajeel said distractedly.
He was hiding something from me. He knew something about this. Why was I healed so fast? I couldn't even explain it myself, it was so inhuman...
