*Gajeel's POV*

I couldn't take my eyes off the drunken levy as she swayed her hips and shook her ass. I felt my face heat up as Gray caught on to what had took my attention away from our important conversation.

"Isn't that the rogue my fiancée met two days ago?" Gray asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, what about her?" I asked in annoyance.

"Well, I didn't think she was your type I mean, she's drunk not a whore" Gray said with a smirk on his face. Laxus and Jellal chuckled at that.

Drawing my attention away from Levy, I scowled at Gray, Laxus and Jellal.

"I don't do love or relationships, you guys know that." I grunted.

"So you don't like Reina?" Gray questioned.

"No she's just a good fuck, clingy though." I complained.

I sat back and listened to Gray go on about how Jellal had tied the knot with Erza, he was engaged to Juvia, Laxus was finally dating Mirajane and Natsu seemed to be enjoying Lucy's company. I barely listened to how he lectured me on settling down, I would never do that. Just because they were all into all that lovey dovey crap doesn't mean I was.

The sound of feet hitting the floor heavily caused me to look up. Levy was wiping her eyes and running out of the bar, in what looked like shame. I got up without thinking, I felt Gray grab my arm.

"Hey man, where you going?" He asked knowingly.

"I'm just going to see if she's alright, not a big deal." I muttered before pulling away from his grip and following Levy back to my apartment.

By the time I had caught up, I heard the sound of huffing and heavy breathing. I opened the front door and walked into my personal training room.

"You're training hard for a drunk" I teased her as she threw countless punches at the punchbag hanging from the ceiling.

"Y-you saw that, huh?" She asked angrily punching the bag faster and harder.

"Yeah but you don't seem so drunk anymore." I observed quietly watching the sweat role down her lips. She was wearing a sports bra and leggings, I couldn't help but look down.

"My face is up here, you big oath!" She shouted at me her hands on her hips as she glared at me.

It was absolutely adorable. She was so small she could never intimidate me, no matter how good a fighter she is.

"You have an hour to get washed and dressed, I expect you in the arena next to the conference hall very soon." I told her strictly.

She nodded before turning away from me, her cheeks burning.

"Oi shrimp, just to make sure you know, this ain't a to the death battle, first one to put the other in a position where in a real fight they would be dead wins." He said looking at me emotionlessly.

Why's he so cold? He shows hardly any emotions to anyone. I wonder what happened to him. No, I mustn't. It's none of my business.

After finishing training, I got ready for my battle with Erza. I put my bandana in my hair to pull blue bangs back out of my eyes and then put on black ripped jeans with a black belt studded with spikes, a light orange tank top that said 'death' and my black leather jacket.

Before I even got into the arena, I felt the buzz in the air, the tension, the excitement and the curiosity. I clenched my hands into fits and prepared for my last fight. Then, finally I could be at peace...with my parents.

Before I stepped in I was stopped by Makarov.

"Good luck out there kiddo, show 'em what you've got!" He encouraged.

I nodded my eyes getting sharper, ready for battle. I held close to me the long sharp blade of my katana. It was time.

"ERZA!! ERZA!! ERZA!!" They all chanted.

She stood in the middle of the arena, looking fierce and ready for a real fight. I grit my teeth and nodded at her in respect.

When the gong chimed, the war began, except I didn't feel like I was fighting Erza, I was fighting with myself.  I had zoned out in the middle of the clash between our blades.

The sharp pain of a blade brought me back as Erza dragged her blade down my arm strongly.

I felt the blood pour, the beast in me began to awake as I looked up my brown eyes shone with a dangerous glint. I smiled and tilted my head at Erza.

"Good aim, let's see how well you do when I'm actually paying attention." I said with confidence.

She ground her teeth together and charged at me with unexpected speed. I only just about managed to dodge her attacks and deflect them with my blade.

"More, give it your all." I roared at her, still not satisfied.

I pushed her back hard and threw my katana in the air, throwing a punch at Erza, I jumped up, gripped my sharp blade, my blood gushing out of my hands holding on so tightly, I slammed the blunt end of my blade into her side.

She was using her sharp side of her blade, I would not. If I got to into it, I could most certainly kill her.

She stood up, one hand gripping her side in pain. I waited for her next move. This time she came at me, changing direction. I jumped up and grabbed her foot, swinging her around the arena I was about to let go but, she took me by surprise slamming her other foot into my face with so much force, I was thrown back. I went flying into the gravel below my face scraping the rough floor. I felt the sting and flow of blood run down my face, my stitches had been ripped out. I stood up wiping my face with my hand I licked the blood off my fingers and then smirked.

"You're so strong Erza, finally a worthy opponent." I shouted grinning. She smiled briefly and then charged at me again not give me a chance to recover.

I didn't move and waited for her blade to get close enough, I ferociously grabbed her blade letting the blade cut into my flesh, her eyes widened in realisation. I pulled her closer, directing the blade into my stomach, she tried to pull back but my determination made me stronger, I was desperate for this. I pushed the blade into the flesh of my stomach, staring into her eyes smiling as she looked at me in horror. I pulled her further in waiting for the blade to get to its hilt, I felt the excruciating sensation of the blade coming out the other side of my stomach.

Letting go of Erza, I let myself fall my knees. The spectators not seeing what had happened praised Erza on her victory. I fell further to the ground my hand breaking the fall, preventing Erza's blade from going any further.

I was breathing heavily, my eyes bulging. Isn't this what I wanted? Half of me was screaming on the inside, I was definitely insane. With the last of my strength I pulled the blade out of me, letting the blood gush out rapidly, covering the floor in a sticky red substance, the metallic smell of blood resonated throughout the arena.

Once Erza's shock was over, her shaking hands lifted my limp body off the ground. Tears filled her eyes as she screamed for help. The crowd no longer chanting also realised this was not Erza's doing.

Gajeel came staggering down the steps, he took Levy off Erza and cradled her as the medics came. The last thing I saw was Gajeel's sad face before I felt myself fading. Is this what it feels like to die?
