The guild was surprisingly empty as I walked in. I'd never seen this few people here before. And by few people, I mean it was totally empty.

"Hello..? Is anyone here?" I wandered through the bare tables in search of at least one familiar face. I heard a noise come from another room in the guild, and what sounded like footsteps.

"Hey, you!" I followed the voice and saw it was Gajeel Redfox, the iron dragon slayer of our guild. "Where's the rest of the guild?"

"I don't know, I just got here a few minutes ago." Gajeel took a few steps closer to me.

"Damnit! What's the guild tryna' do completely vanishing like this?"

"I have no idea. We must have missed something pretty big, maybe we can find some clues?" I walked over to the bar where Mirajane usually works.

I noticed there was something that seemed like a piece of paper. It could have been a note.

"Gajeel! I think there's a note here." He rushed over to where I was standing.

"To anyone this might concern, the Fairy Tail guild is on vacation. We'll see you in a week! -Makarov and the guild." I read the note aloud, and it seemed to agitate Gajeel.

"Seriously?!? I was out on a job, did they forget about that?!" He slammed his fist on a table in rage.

"I was sick all week, and had to stay at my house. This is the first day i've been here in a while."

"Well, guess it's just you an' me kid. I've seen ya around before, what's your name?"

"I'm (Y/N). You're pretty popular here, so I know you're Gajeel." A smile appeared on his face.

"Yep, that's me. I guess I am pretty popular here." Hm, I had a question for him.

"Say, where's Lily at? He always follows you around." Gajeel grunted.

"I sent em' to go train for a while. Got completely pummeled on this last job."

"Oh, okay." I didn't really see the value of the two of us staying here, so I turned to leave. Maybe I would go visit some of my friends from other guilds over the week.

"Hey! Where are you goin' to?" I stopped and turned back around.

"I dunno, did you want me to stay here?"

"I don't care where ya go! Was just curious is all." Why does he always seem so angry?

"Well then, at least for today, I think i'll hang out with you." He looked at me then grunted again.

"Whatever." I sat down at one of the tables, and he took the seat across from me.

Not much was going on, we were just sitting there in silence. I shifted my eyes over to his face.

Full of metal studs, and almost always bearing an angry expression. His long hair was the color of black pepper, and came down to maybe his middle back.

Anyone would have to admit, he was hot. Still examining him, his eyes flicked to mine. As quickly as I could I averted my eyes and looked at the ground.

"Are we just gonna sit here and stare like idiots all day or are we gonna do something?" Gajeel stood up from the table. "How bout' I entertain ya with some music."

A smirk crossed my face. I had heard his music before, and I had a better idea.

"Or, we could have a match." His mood seemed to change as he towered over me, a smirk on his face as well.

"You're on. But don't think i'll go easy on ya kid." Does he realize we're probably the same age, why's he keep calling me kid?

Gajeel followed me outside to the dusty clearing, where most friendly matches took place. Less destructive for the guild hall.

(AN: I'm going to have you use the same sound magic in all of these, unless you have a specific request for magic types.)

"You ready (Y/N)?" He stretched his arms and positioned to start.

"Yep. Let's go!" I knew Gajeel was really powerful, but I was quite fast. I darted towards him and sent a ringing sound through the air.

He watched me and laughed. He cracked his neck and said something before attacking.

"Now this is gonna be good." With that, his body took on the properties or iron, and the rippling sound only pushed him back a little. "My turn."

He used one of his signature moves, fist of the iron dragon. I was able to move out of the way, but barely.

I used a magic known as noise blaster, and it did a little more damage to him than before. I was in trouble though, he was going to use roar of the iron dragon.

I had one move that might be able to fight it back.

"Roar of the iron dragon!" Gajeel screamed and began to suck in the air around him, preparing to use it.

My counterattack was this.

"Piercing scream of the sound barrier!" It was similar to the dragon slayers' roars, but it was screaming.

I could see Gajeel wincing as he heard it, but it didn't hit him yet. It had collided with his roar in the middle of the clearing.

I held my ground for a little while, but soon he proved more powerful and the roar of the iron dragon hit.

Ow. Everything hurt, he really was strong. But instead of hearing him celebrate, he was running towards me.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" He knelt down to where I was and placed my head in his lap.

"Damnit, I didn't know it would hurt you that bad." He was concerned about me.

"I'll be fine, just help me up." Gajeel stood up and reached out a hand for me, which I thankfully accepted.

When I tried to stand, I wasn't very steady, and I swayed for a moment.

"Whoah." He had pulled me into a tight hug to keep me from falling, a slight pink tinted his face.

"I didn't mean to hurt ya. Sorry (Y/N). You were still pretty strong out there." He ruffled the top of my head a little.

"It's okay Gajeel. I'd just like to get home and sleep for a while." In a quick transition, he picked me up bridal style.

"Okay, let's go. I'll take ya home." His voice sounded softer than before. I told him my adress, and he began to walk.

I felt sleepy in his arms, and my eyes started to close.

"Thanks... Gajeel." I mumbled before falling asleep.

He just grunted in response, and lightly kissed the top of my head.
