I felt like I was in a nightmare. I was stuck in this uncomfortable situation in a place that was uncomfortable with people that made me uncomfortable.

Kayla's perfectly manicured nails were holding on to Noah's shoulder as she laughed at something. Her arm was draped over him as she leaned in closer and talked quietly. Kayla's long blonde hair was pinned back in a perfect, right bun which left her tan shoulders exposed.

Kayla was wearing the tightest black dress I had ever seen which perfectly showed off her greatest assets. The dress was tight at her boobs were popping out the top and it pulled in at her waist. The pitch black dress hardly covered her butt but she didn't seem to mind. I immediately noticed the blue tag hanging around her neck and felt a bundle of nerves begin to build in my stomach.

Of course Kayla would be working at a store like this.

She laughed at something Noah said, squeezing his shoulder and causing him to give her a lazy smile. How did she manage to get him to smile so easily? I've spent so much time with him already and he very rarely shows me that kind of smile. They smiled at each other, laughing and talking quietly as I stood beside them; obviously being ignored.

I began to back away slowly until Kayla finally noticed my presence. Her sharp eyes seemed to make contact with mine and she immediately stopped giggling, a frown etched onto her face.

"Violet," her smile sickeningly sweetly. "What a surprise seeing you here. I never expected to see you in a store like Design, you know, because it's for the higher class people."

"We're getting her a dress," Noah said and I looked up at him. I found it hard to look Kayla in the eyes-or anyone for that matter. I was always nervous around her and at a loss for words.

Kayla turned to Noah and talked quietly, however she wasn't very quiet since I could still hear every word she said. She even put her hand up beside her mouth as if that would stop me from hearing it. She knew exactly what she was doing.

Her eyes made contact with mine as she tried to quietly talk to Noah. "It might be difficult trying to find a dress in her size."

Noah immediately stepped back from Kayla and she put a hand on her hip. Noah's face turned cold and he seemed to distance himself from her.

"What? It's true," she said as she shuffled away and started searching through the rack of dresses.

Noah and I stood awkwardly together as I refused to look up from the floor and look at him. I felt him gently touch my arm, but my eyes snapped up to look at him, a hint of sympathy flashing through his eyes, however that disappeared as soon as I flinched away from him.

"I'm fine," I mumbled before backing away and pretending to look at a couple dresses hanging up on the wall.

I noticed one dress in particular as I avoided looking in the direction of Noah and Kayla. It was hanging on the wall towards the back corner of the wall, sandwiched between two short, plain black dresses.

This dress was a dark wine red with lace covering the sleeves. It had a thin body that would end around the knees and be tight around the waist. The red lace looked beautiful though.

I reached out to touch the soft material just as my name was called behind me. I immediately retracted my hand and spun around to see Kayla holding a handful of dresses.
