Viennese
"Yo dude, watch where ya goin!" I bumped into some kind of hip-hop speaking species. I don't understand why they wanna speak like Snoop D-O double G. (DOGG) or Akon. He still continued to walk towards his way.
"Sorry! And I'm not a dude!" I screamed at him, trying to at least apologize.
Apparently, there are too many kinds of people in this school but I could classify the top 5 with the most population.
1. The Bees- consists of Jocks, varsity players, cheerleaders, and other perky and noisy people.
2. The Geeks- Mostly nerds, 'Anime' lovers and the overly shrewd types of human beings.
3. The Shakespeareans - They're the hopeless romantics in Shakespeare era. I couldn't count myself as one. Not really a fan of Literature but I sure am a certified bookworm.
4. The Wannabees - Yep. They are the socialites. The wanna be celebs in their near future.
5. The Campus Royalties - The most popular people, in one circle.
This may sound very Highschool-ish but there really are kinds of circles even in college. These are the kinds of things that will never ever be absent in a lifetime. I never intended to be included in any of these groups. I just want to graduate and move out from this hell hole.
I looked at my watch.
Oh crap! It's already 5:30!
I ran to the parking area located behind the Fine Arts building. Nope, I don't own an extravagant car. Not even a cheap carpool. I just ride a bike, a yellow Japanese bike to be specific.
I arrived at Barney's at exactly 6:00 pm. Barney's is a bookstore selling all kinds of cheap, second hand books. I started as a bookshelfer (Is that even a word?) 6 months ago. Now, I'm in the reception area. This is where the customers reserve and borrow books. I hold the records using the store's newly bought Mac computer.
“Adie just asked me out!” Gen, my co-worker, suddenly jumped in front of me while I placed my bag under the counter table. Adie Cooper is the University’s most famous bookworm. He’s one of the geeks but certainly is the hottest among them all. Gen has been attracted to him since he started being a member here in the bookstore. She was assigned to the classic literature section but she exchanged with another co-worker who was in the pre-med books section. Yep, Adie is studying pre-med. Gen is in another university in which she entices to be a famous Film Director. Imagine that, a doctor and a film director. Nice.
“Well, congratulations. When’s the big date?” I smiled at her.
“Big date as in tying the knots?” She asked, her eyes widening at me.
“No, silly. Big date as in eating dinner and stuff.” I laughed at her assumption. She’s too romantic to be a director. She should be a romance writer instead.
“Oh! I was too forward!” She sighed and helped me organize the pile of books on top of the desk.
“It’s on Friday. He said he’ll pick me up by 6 which means I won’t be here to help you close the store and I really do feel guilty about it that’s why I’ll make it up to you on Monday!” She gave me that 'Gen Parker' look as she placed her hands on her hips. Gen has that long, dirty blonde hair. Many thinks that she's just another dumb blonde but they’re wrong. Gen is one of the most generous and rational people I've met in my 20 years of existence.
