CLINT
I don't really know how to actually court a woman. Never in my life have I done that. I was used to me, putting up my most charming smile and them, being poisoned by that sweet spell.
So when Math effortlessly told me that I need to court Viennese Barson to charm her, I was...
Dumbfounded.
I don't know what to do, where to begin and how to do it. There are far too many questions popping into my head as of how to court a woman who happens to think I'm a creeper.
"Dude, I'm tellin' you, it's not that easy. Not a piece of sandwich." Dave warned me.
"Math, will it really work on her?" I diverted my attention to Math. If last time, I said that Math's the unwilling apprentice and I'm on the higher level, well, this time it's the opposite. Though I'm a 'more-than-willing and will-give it-his-all-just-for-viennese' apprentice.
"On Viennese Barson? not that easy, Clint. You'll really go past heaven and hell just to get that woman's approval to officially court her." He smirked while my eyes literally brawled out.
"Wait! Officially court her? I thought that's the thing I'll be doing first then she'll give me her 'yes'! What the hell!" I can't believe it.
"Well, based on how she responded to Dave's introduction, this woman sure has a lot of guts and hardheaded-ness but I'm warning you, Clint. She's the type of woman you don't wanna mess with." He said with warning in his voice as he collected his things.
"What are you sayin'?" I crooked a brow at him.
"I'm guessing she's already have a lot of baggage. She's not someone you should take it easy. If she falls for you, there's no backing out, Clint. You need to be serious." I think Math should be taking up psychology instead of Engineering. The way he talks is just like a dad or some expert.
"I am serious." I glared at him. Why wouldn't I be serious?
"Then I guess you're ready to face the battle." He smirked and left.
----------
"Wow. You're really courting a girl?" Winter gave me a look of disbelief. We're at a coffee shop. I was helping her with English literature when she asked me how I'm doing. I told her about Viennese Barson because she might know her and maybe set me up on a date with her. I even said that my Wolrd revolves around Viennese now. She just laughed.
Am I that unbelievable?
"I told you. I want her." I took a sip of my latte. I'm not fond of pure coffee or americano. I like my drink, sweet.
"I wonder who's this Viennese girl. It's the first time I heard you actually want to court someone. Please describe her." she giggled.
"Well, she's too damn pretty. She has these steel gray eyes, stone-cold but I love it, anyway. Her hair is so damn perfect just by letting it naturally fly with the wind. You'll love her the second you see her. I'm sure of that." I took a sip of my latte while Winter stared at me with these amazed look.
"Looks like she really got you. This is the first time you actually talked about a girl with a very respectful manner." she said in a teasing tone. I've already had a lot of crushes and girlfriends. Winter knows every girl advebture I had.
"respectful manner? I have respect for women, you know that! " I'm not like Dave, but I'm also not like Math! I'm in the middle. I respect and I also don't.
"I mean, with adoration. You've always talked about your past girlfriends but not this way. You've always told me 'ah, she's pretty and sexy and has a lot of sense of humor' or 'she's hot, she'scool blah blah...' " she tried to explain but I remember saying those things.
"I still don't get what you're sayin'" I asked.
"ughhh! Let's just say, this time, you talk like you're really in love and not just because you think you're in love. I can't believe we're talking aout these kinds of things." Winter hates it when she has to repeat what she already said.
" So this is the feeling you get when you're in love? I feel like a complete sissy. All gay and fluffy. But of course, I'm not gay." I'm not against the gay people. Just sayin' I'm not one of them.
"Of course you're not. You're head over heels in love, Clint. .That's a good thing. Better than being gay" She smiled. It's a sincere one.
I just shook my head and sighed.
VIENNESE
"Clint? as in Clint Rallison?!" Alex shrieked at me. I told her all about the creeper scene two days ago.
Since Alex and I don't share the same class schedule(of course, we're not taking the same course), we have a hard time meeting each other. I only get to see her in a maximum of three times a week. We were neighbors back in highschool, but her family moved to another neighborhood. We're still best friends. She made me promise that I will never ever have another best friend aside from her.
"Yeah. His friend uhhh,,, Dave?" I know Alex knows every cute guy in this school. She nodded. "He suddenly popped out of nowhere and told me these crazy things about Clint." I'm still getting goosebumps over that scene.
"so, you're saying that Clint has a crush on you?" She asked me, wearing a look of envy in her face but I just nodded."Viens, You're so lucky! Clint's one of the hottest guys in our school! Well, not as hot as his friend."
"you have a thing for Dave? ughhh." I acted as if I was about to throw up.
"not Dave! his other friend, Mathew. He's way, way hotter than your Clint." Now she looks like a teenager in a daydreaming position.
"he's got another crazy friend? and FYI, he's not my Clint. I don't even know the guy and I'm not planning on knowing him. I still have a lot of work to do and ass to save for the next.....10 years." I;m talking about my chosen career and my family. I need to work as soon as possible and to have a large amount of cash in my bank account(though I don't have one). The loan sharks will actually eat us if we don't pay our debts.
"Come on Viens! Don't give me that 'all work and no play' attitude." she gestured a quote sign. "You've worked really hard for so long, don't refuse yourself a very hot reward." She giggled from her not-so-funny-joke but I smiled at her for she appreciates all of my efforts.
"I don't need a hot reward. I need money for my family." I whispered. Well, it's the truth. I don't need a man. I need assurance for my family's future.
He can't give me that.
