Chapter 1

                       (Nate's POV)

  I could feel my legs start to to burn but I knew if I stopped now I would regret it. Its about four in the morning right now and I know I should be asleep but I just couldn't...

        Not today. So I ran.

        I'm running the perimeter of the territory and I am happy to know that the night guards are actually doing their job by standing guard.

       I nod my head at them as they bow their heads at me.

           Even after almost six years of being an Alpha I will never fully get used to that.

        I'm pulled from my thoughts when I hear Ariana's voice inside of my head.

           "Nate?" She asked.

           She hates it when I leave the bed without telling her because she thinks I'm going to run off one day and not tell her.

            "Out on a run. See you in five minutes." I close the mind link so that I could finish this without feeling to much of the guilt from not telling her.

             I finally make it back to the pack house and checked my watch.

               two hours.

           I was out running for two hours and I'm still not tired. But I know my legs are praising the fact that I've stopped running.

         I take off my shirt and start to wipe the sweat from my forehead as I head up the stairs.

          I pass by my brothers room and notice that both of their doors are opened.

            Which is weird because they both hate leaving their doors open.

         I changed my direction and head towards both their rooms.

            I check Alex's room and I see Athena sleeping peacefully in the bed.

     But Alex was gone.

              I close the door and head towards Danny's room.

             I open his a little more and notice Destiny sleeping there but not Danny.

           I was about to mind link both of them when I see the game room light was turned on.

         I walked over there and I could hear them both grunting and whispering towards each other.

              "Okay that wasn't fair and you know it dude." Alex said as he tried to run Danny's car off the road in Need for Speed.

              "Not my fault you suck." Danny said as he sped passed Alex making him first place in the race.

              "We said no Nitro and you still used it. What the hell Danny." Alex said as he used his to try to catch up.

             "Yea well things change. Deal with it." Because it was today I felt like that had a double meaning.

              I listened for a little while longer as the two bickered back and forth until finally I cleared my throat.

           "Mmm-hmm."

                 The two turned their heads, looked at me, and went back to their game.

                "Couldn't sleep either?" Danny said as he passed the finish line throwing the remote at Alex who sat there and pouted like a kid.
