The Muted Luna (Sequel to TASW)

Chapter 6

(Nates POV)

I didn't sleep much that night.

            How could I knowing we weren't getting any closer to finding Eva than we were before.

I watched as the sun peaked over the horizon.

I sighed knowing I wasn't going to be able to sleep anytime soon.

I heard my phone vibrate and I could only guess that it was Ariana checking up on me.

"I guess you didn't sleep much last night. I could feel my wolf trying to connect with yours and she's restless. I'm worried about you Nate. Xavier's up now, talk to you soon. I love you."

My fingers went to type but my thumbs stood still.

I didn't know what to type. My fingers still hovered over the key board on my iphone but all they did was close the texting app and lock my phone.

I put the phone back on the night stand and turned over on my back.

There was so many things that I was feeling and thinking.

And yet I couldn't talk to Ariana about it.

I don't blame her or anything for what happened.

I don't blame anyone but I just feel like she wouldn't understand.

Yea, she was Eva's friend but that was my sister.

As mean as it sounds but Ariana will never know what kind of bond you get when you have sibilings.

She's an only child and has no one in this world besides us.

I wonder how Alex and Danny are doing.

They never took what happened to Eva easy but more Alex than Danny.

Danny and Alex are close but Eva comes dead second in Alex's life.

The day after the funeral he went numb. He didn't speak, he didn't laugh, he didn't even talk to Athena.

She was so heart broken that he couldn't confide in her. But she understood.

But then someone told Alex that he had to get over it and be a better mate to Athena.

             Alex lost it.

He grabbed the guy by the throat, and threw him across the room.

He walked over to the guy who's body was now under the wall that had fallen on top of him.

Alex grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, drew back his fist, and the next thing we knew we were calling pack doctors trying to get an ambulance for the guy.

        And then we had a crying Athena trying to calm down a now shifted Alex.

I had to use my Alpha voice on him to calm down, and shift back.

He was resisting but he finally backed down and shifted. He was gone for about fifteen hours the next day.

When he came back he apologized and finally broke down about Eva.

He really felt guilty when he found out that the guy he beat up was now in a coma.

So, Alex visited him everyday. Apologizing to his mate for the way he acted.
