chapter 29

(Eva's POV)

      I heard someone enter my tent.

       My eyes were closed but I knew they were looking at me.

       The person stepped closer and I jumped up, claws extended as I growled at them.

        I stopped when I had seen it was Quin.

     "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

       "I could have killed you." I said as I got up.

When I looked outside of the tent the sky was already dark.

       "Do you have the time?" I asked as she took out her phone.

      "Its almost eight o'clock."

        I was asleep for five hours?

        I got up and threw on a sweater that Brian had got me last year.

       "Where is everyone?"

           She looked at me and scratched the back of her head.

       "Inside eating?" she said.

        She sounded nervous and I knew she was still somewhat scared of me.

     "Why are they inside the pack house?"

       I grabbed my hair tie and re did my pony tail.

      "Nate said he didn't want to wake you, and he knows you're always out hunting for your pack so he thought he would give you a break. Said you deserved to rest." I was taken back by her confession but I didn't dwell on it much.

        I looked down and I was still covered in blood but I needed to make sure my pack had eaten.

       I walked out and everyone was sitting around either reading, training or laughing.

        "Did you all eat?" Everyone quieted down and they all bowed their heads.

        Raphael who was a pack warrior stood up and nodded his head.

       "Yes Alpha. Alpha Nathaniel was generous enough to provide food for the whole pack." I nodded my head at him and looked towards Quin.

        "Did you need something?" I asked and she looked around before looking towards my tent.

      "Can we speak in private?" I walked towards my tent and used my powers to isolate the walls within.

     "What was that?"

     "I made it so that no one can hear us." I crossed my arms and waited until she spoke.

     "I-uh well I really don't know how to say this."

         "No." I said before I started walking towards the front of my tent but she stepped in front of me.

      "You don't even know what I was going to ask." She said exasperated.

   "You want your brothers in your pack and my answer is no." shock was written all over her face before she sighed.

     "For the past couple of months I thought I lost my family. I thought I was alone in this world. I didn't even have a mate until I met Jordan. Then you come along bringing two important people back into my life."

         I waited as she continued.

       "I'm not alone anymore. I have a mate, and now my brothers. But their loyalty is strong. They refuse to leave your pack and I can't leave mines. That would be a slap in the face to Nate considering he took me in."
