Harry
When my mind comes swimming back to consciousness, I notice the familar throbbing of a hangover in the back of my head. That was some party last night. The last thing I can remember was heading out with the lads to a rock or meteorite that had just fallen from the sky and landed a ways from the house. We went to investigate, some weird crap happened, and we ran back to the party.
Hm. I don't even remember how we got home.
Reaching up and wiping the sleep from my eyes, I peel them open, throwing off the blankets. I about-face to look out the window and see how bright it is outside (my bed sits against the wall with the windows). And I immediately notice that something is wrong.
I turn back to face my room, and I stop breathing.
The things in my room are floating. Floating. Nothing is sitting on the ground. Not even my bed. I snap back to reality and begin to panic. "Louis!" I shout. "Louis!"
I hear him hustling down the hall. I hear him grab the doorknob. But I definitely didn't expect to see him barge in with an adrenaline rush that manages to knock the door off its hinges, taking the entire doorframe with it. He stops when he sees the floating objects in my room. Suddenly, everything drops straight to the ground. Louis still hasn't let go of the doorknob, and is managing to hold the entire door (with the frame) off the floor with one hand.
I lift a shaking finger. "You just..." I start.
"And you just..." Louis whispers, his voice trembling.
We both take one look into each other's eyes and let out blood-curdling screams. As we panic, all the objects in the room hit the ground roughly.
"What the hell?!" I yell. "You just knocked the door out of the wall!"
"You just had a floating room! A floating room!" Louis exclaims.
I run a hand through my hair, breathing heavily. "At least put the door down. It's freaking me out."
Louis does as I say; however, when he lets go of the doorknob, there's an imprint of his hand. Clear as day. He comes over and sits on the side of my bed. "Man, whatever hangover hallucination this is, it's really scaring me."
With a nervous laugh, I say, "Louis, normal people don't just knock doors out of their walls."
"Have you calmed down?" he asks.
"Now that you're not holding the door up with one fist, a little. You?"
"Well, your room isn't floating anymore. That's a good sign."
I begin to think. Louis did something that was not natural. I've heard of people getting superhuman strength in situations that they might not survive, or when one of their loved ones or friends is in danger. But he took the door, and the wall around it, with him. That's a little extreme. And waking up to see that nothing in your room is touching solid ground is definitely supernatural.
"Louis," I start, "you don't think--"
The phone rings, causing us both to jump. It's Louis'. He reaches into the pocket of his sweats and answers it.
"Liam? Liam, calm down. No way? Same thing happened to us! Yeah, it scared the living hell out of me. We'll we over in ten."
Louis looks at me and says, "Get some pants on. Looks like we're not the only ones who are having weird experiences today."
Ten minutes later, Louis and I stand in front of the door to Liam and Zayn's flat. Louis holds up his fist to knock, but I stop him. "Um, let me," I say. He nods. I don't even have to knock twice before a slightly pale Liam answers the door.
