Jax P.O.V.

Pushing my way through the school, I looked for August. I needed know if she knew that the pull between us felt weaker. I was also in a shitty mood because of this morning. Why didn't she take the food? Is she that disgusted with me? Or was I- I stopped in mid thought, freezing in my tracks. At the end of the hall I spoted her. My eyes swept up August's figure, looking at her shapely legs, small waist, and her gleaming hair. Moving my eyes to the left, I focused on the conversation she was having with some guy.

"August, would you like to catch a movie and maybe dinner on Friday night?" My eyes grew wide. What would she say? 'She'll turn him down that's what she'll do!' my wolf growled. He didn't like this anymore than I did.

"Yeah, that sounds great." WHAT!Why was she going on dates with other guys!? Didn't she know that we were mates!? My inner wolf growled in anger.

Suddenly noticing my presence, August turned and spoted me in the crowd. The smug look that she gave me, her blue eyes twinkling with mischif made my vision flood with red. She enjoys taunting me with other men? I needed to calm down or get out of the building before I shifted out of rage. I could already fell my bones cracking and moving. Pushing my way through the hall, I shoved people aside. I was furious and didn't care who knew about it.

Bursting out of the building, I sprinted toward the forest off of the side of school. I growled in anger, my wolf clawing to get out. When I rushed past the tree line, my wolf ripped though my body unable to stay contained any longer. My flesh became covered with fur and my hands and feet were replaced with thick, black paws.

I howled in fury before taking off in the woods. I shot past trees and jumped over logs. All I could think about was the way he looked at her, and the fact that she accepted his damn offer!

Oh the look on her face was pricless, that kiss was the perfect thing to crush her soul with.

But now I needed to think what to do next. How would I continue to separate Jax and August? Just asking the simple question sent off millions of ideas in my head.

Oh this was going to be fun.

August P.O.V.

When I entered the house through the front door,  I heard my mom call me from the tribe kitchen.

"Hey mom." I called.

" Hi sweetie, how was you're first day back?" I sluntered into room and set my bag down.

"It was ok, I got asked on a date this friday." The older woman's eyes lit with excitment, her mouth about to burst with questions. Without warning she exploded.

"Is he cute? How did he ask you? Where are you going? Does he have a car?" She stared waiting for my answer. It took me a minute to process all that she just said but I mostly answered with I don't know. Now that I thought about it I didn't know much about Ace, sure I learned that he was funny and kind but beside that I didn't know anymore than my mother did. She didn't even know that Jax was my mate.

While I help mom make dinner for the entire 72 tribe members, the back door opened and slammed shut. The sound echoed through the whole house. Stomping into the kitchen came, Jax, he was sweaty...shirtless, and panting. When he saw me, he face instantly grew solemn. He backed out of the room grumbling to himself, words that even werewolf hearing couldn't interprate. Bounding up the stairs to his room we heard the bedroom door hurl shut. We both cringed at the noise.

I glanced at my wide-eyed mother as she asked," What's with him?"

Giving her a fake chuckle,"I honestly don't know."

To hell I didn't know!

Now dinner was a different story, sitting in my usual spot at the 80 foot long table we had placed inside the west part of the mandsion. When the bell was sounded people came flooding into the room taking the closest seat they could find. First came the crazy mob of teenage boys, they pushed and pulled at eachother to take their seats. Next entered the families with the younger children and babies. Then the young couples, not really my favorite group. And finally the elders. They were considered the most worthy and wise members of the Oblivion pack. When they strode to their places, pack members-including me-bowed in respect. In the middle of dinner, I senced his presence as he walked to he spot. Jax seemed to have calmed down enough to be around people and began to eat. All over the table, laughter, talking, and food-flinging fights were in full swing.

Through out dinner I couldn't help but notice Jax sneaking glances at me. His dark, shaggy, brown hair brushing against his schoring stare. Whenever I turned to talk to someone on his side of the table he would quickly shift his gaze. Once when he shifted his eyes upward I looked where his line of vision pointed. The ceiling. I only chuckled at his childish temptes to avoid me.

Why even try?
