Jax's P.O.V.
I cracked my eyes open, letting the morning sun peak in. Raising my arms above my head, I streched my arms- letting out a groan. I stared at the ceiling, thinking about this week. August and I hadn't shared a word and it was pissing me off. Obvisiously she was still hanging around that latchkeey kid from the Midnight Pack. My face schrunched up thinking about the snoty bunch of rich kids. Our packs' alphas have always been close but the members were a total different story. Constant fights broke out between them causing more hatred toward eachother.
Thinking about it I had gotten into a few fights myself. So you could say that I have some beef with a couple guys in the Midnight Pack, including Ace. I turned on my side and punched my pillow, remembering the night.
My group had gotten into a fight with some Midnights when Ace accused us of stealing their girls. One night when we were on a run they surrounded us when we were resting in a clearing. Ace and I had a fight about how I somehow "stole his girlfriend away." I nipped at his face telling he to never call me a liar. He let loose a growl of hatred and gashed my back when I was walking away. Then all hell broke loose. There was clawing, stratching, and biting. Growls ripped through air, cutting through the smell of blood.
I felt the scar on my back burn with anger. It pissed me off that August didn't know that side of Ace. I pushed myself off of my bed. I needed breakfast and to cool off. I opened my door and slandered down the hallway, not really caring that I was only in a pair of sweatpants.
When I turned the corner I saw Her walking down the hall, holding a cup of coffee still in a sleepy state. She looked toward me and her eyes flickered from me to the floor. She made a bee-line to the other side of the hallway, sticking to the wall as much as possible. But like a magnet, I was drawn to her. I stepped in her path blocking her way with my body.
August let out of sigh, realizing that she was caught. "What Jax?" She said in an unamused voice. I was shocked that she even was talking to me. I didn't know what to say to her, I wanted to explain what happened and why I didn't except her. But it was too early for that. Finally I decided to go with what I was "feeling".
"I'm sorry." August's eyebrows raised at this.
"You're sorry?" She scoffed at my apology. "You sorry for what Jax? That you almost kissed me while you're dating Megan or the rejection?"
I tried not to let my anger get the best of me. This is one of the very few things that annoyed me about August, she had some what of a smart-ass attitude. But when I looked into her eyes as she ranted and raved at me, I could see the true pain and anguish in her. How much I hurt her. I felt the dead weight of not being able to repair her brokeness even after saying I'm sorry.
I turned on my heals about to head back to my room. I couldn't handle this. It was too depressing and sappy.
August's P.O.V.
He turned away from me heading back down the hall. I could barely see his watery figure through my unshed tears. I felt an deep loneiness as he walked away. A reminder that I, in fact, was not over him. Now I was confused, I still like him but I also like Ace. I really really like Ace. My head spun, thinking too fast, and my wolf took control of my speech and thoughts.
Jax, she thought. Without warning I blurted,"Wait!" He froze in his path and turned slightly at my outburst. "I-I acccept your apology. I'm sorry for being rude at first." My cheeks heated up I snapped my head down, to look at my bare feet. Even though they were the words of my wolf I couldn't help but feel as though they were my true emotions.
