I got woken up by my mom at six am with a terrible squealing. I don't know what's happening, but it better be something good. I'm not exactly a morning person.

"Mom, what happened? Are you aware of what time is it?" I asked her as I went down the stairs. "What got you so excited?"

She looked at me with the biggest smile. "I already know where to take you honey"

"I see you're still planning on traveling, and taking me with you too." I tell her as I crossed my arms.

"Megan you need to chill and enjoy life a little" Mom said looking back at something on the computer "Look, this is where we'll be staying" she said as I got closer to take a look at what she was showing me.

"London? Why London? And wait, did you just told me to chill?" I said raising my eyebrow, I can't believe mom, who's like, 45 years old just told me to chill.

"Yes, London, and because it's a wonderful place for you to be a teenager even just for once," she said rummaging on the page for a good hotel "And yes, I told you to chill isn't that one of those cool expressions you guys use nowadays?" okay, I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear a thing.

"Oh mom, what happened to Kate? When I came back from the library she was gone" I said trying to change the subject for a bit.

"Right I forgot to tell you, her aunt came earlier than expected to pick her up, it seems that she's going to visit her grandma, since the old lady is sick"

"Grandma is sick?" weird, I saw her like a week ago and she was fine.

"No, her other grandma" she said. That made more sense now.

"Anyway mom," I said changing the grandma topic "When are we going to do this trip?"

"Didn't I tell you already?" she said looking amused "The flight it's tomorrow, so you better go pack."

Okay so let me get this straight, I, the person who hates airplanes the most, am going in a 13 hour flight from San Francisco to London. This is all so wrong.

"Oh sweetie don't look so scared, I'll give you a sleeping pill all throughout the ride" She said smiling at me, yeah mom, that's so comforting.

After that wonderful conversation with mom, I went back to my room to pack the essential things, like, toiletries and whatever shirt or jean came in my way. The rest of the day passed by pretty fast, and when I came to realization, it was already around 9 pm. My phone started ringing and when I picked it up a really high pitch squeal came to my ears.

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," Oh, it's my beautiful best friend Hayley "Megan how dare you not telling me you were going to London? You suck as a bestie."

She is amazing, but it's too noisy. I like that she is a proud asian, and she never cares about what other people got to say about her.

"First of all, how did you find out? Mom basically just told me we were going to London."

"I have my ways baby girl. You know your beautiful, amazing, loving best friend knows everything." She said and I could feel her smiling through the phone.

"Yeah, yeah whatever helps you sleep at night." I said, smiling. "Anyway, is that the only reason you called?"

"Nope. I called to tell you that you have to meet a hot guy for me" she said

"You've got to be kidding me"

"I'm not. I'm 1000% serious on this. Also I want you to bring me lots of souvenirs. That's what you get for not telling me sooner" she said with her high pitched little voice.
