The lady in charge of the gate, after what it felt like an eternity, started calling us to get in the plane, so we all stood up and waited in line while the old people and kids with any kind of incapacity started boarding first.

What surprised me though, wasn't the fact that they were being called first, but how Colton made his way up to the front. Well, how we was being carried up to the front. I really didn't expect it for him to be going to the same place as me, less to be riding the same plane. He looked so ashamed with all the people staring at him with pity and such, that I felt the sudden urge to intervene.

"What? Is it the first time you guys see a male teenager?" I said walking towards Colton "Because it's that the case I must admit it's a bit pathetic." I could see the shock on his face increasing with each step I took towards his direction. At least I know I'm not the only one shocked in here.

"What the hell are you doing!?" He whispered, look at me with his wide eyed gaze.

"I'm just stating the truth, I mean they all look so pitiful," I said loudly so everyone could hear me "Staring like that, as if it's the first time they've been surrounded by people, poor little things. I guess it's not their fault they don't go out as much."

I looked at him from the corner of my eye and sent him a small smile, which he gladly returned. Since I knew my job was already done, I smiled at my mom, who looked extremely embarrassed and I'm sure she wanted to be sucked by the floor right there and there. I started walking towards her when suddenly I felt someone grabbing my arm. I turned around slightly annoyed and realized it was Colton.

"The hell Colton? Let go of me. I can't walk like this, you know."

"No."

"No? Who are you to say no?" I said trying to pull my arm back.

"I don't want you to leave." Oh. Well I surely didn't expect that. How am I supposed to say no to that?

"But, I have to go back in line Colton and you kno-" I tried to say when he interrupted me by pulling my arm, I guess trying to shut me up. "No you don't." He said smiling, then he called over the lady that was supposed to keep on carrying him to the front, and looked at her with a sudden change in his face, "Angie, you see this girl right here is my precious childhood friend, and I would really like it if she could sit with me during the flight."

I was stuck in my place with my mouth wide open, what the hell was that? Childhood friend? I barely even know the guy. So I tried to say something in return, like how crazy he was and that he was lying. But once again, Colton stopped me from talking, this time he did it by squeezing my arm.

The lady looked at him aggravated as if she was debating herself, "I don't know sweetie, you might need help during the flight and she looks like she's a minor." She told him while biting her lip, I could see the discomfort she felt saying no to Colton, and I'm sure he could see it too.

"Yeah, I know. It's always the same. Of course a sick kid like me can't feel normal, not even for a day huh?" Said Colton looking down at his feet as if he would cry any minute now, I raised my eyebrow at him as he continued, "It's okay Angie. I get it."

The lady, well Angie, looked at him with so much pity I felt disgusted. Then she sighed and agreed to let me sit with him during the flight, not before telling me that I needed to be careful and to call for help if anything happened.

"I can't believe you were able to convince that girl to let me sit with you, considering the fact that you're going on the business class, while I was definitely not." I told him looking at him with so much disbelief he laughed.
