Choices

Wonder if what he says is true
Wonder if he means the things he do
Pondering on the times we shared
Hoping that you mean me well
I don't mean to sound insecure
But once you've been hurt before
It's hard to know what's real and what's not real
You begin to think that everyone is taken you as a game
It begins to get hard trying to trust
So instead you lock your heart away
Emotions in you those barely  seem to exist
You dare to show anyone
Dare to let them free
Dreading that they'll think your weak
Hard to let anyone in
Holding the pain inside
Scared to be betrayed again
Your heart and your head thinking as one
But once your hearts been broken
The pair becomes undone
You try to think with a clear head
But your heart is telling you otherwise
Once you feel that kind of pain
It's hard to forget
So you build this wall up never letting anyone in
You think that your protecting yourself
Little do you know your recking yourself
Holding all that pain in is only bring on damage
So here he is someone Bright someone new
Someone kind and caring loving and true
Someone strong and generous
Someone perfect for you
But because your damaged goods
You can't see the truth
You think he's like the others only wanting one thing
But that's not true but you don't know that so you push him away
Yet he's fighting hard to get you to stay and see that your the one for him and he's the one for you
But your mind is telling you no run the other way
Your heart is telling you to stay
But from all the pain you've been through you don't know if you can trust your heart
Rather listen to your mind then to get broke apart.
So here you sit around confused
No longer knowing what to do
Should you listen to your mind or your heart
All you know is that you want the pain to stop
You just want to be free no longer scared
You just want to be loved like everyone else
so what do you choose
No longer knowing what to do
You sit around thinking what do you choose.
