Prologue

Prologue

"I'm going to kill you! Crush you!" Young Melanie tried to sound as menacing in that oversized hand-sown armor. Well, it wasn't exactly an armor, but that's what she calls it. And she never liked people telling her what is right.

Pointing her mini wooden sword towards her best friend, she spat, "Curse you little demon! Haaaarrrrrr!!" She chased him all around the room, letting out her high pitched laughter as she tripped on her own pink cape.

"Nobody ever kills the mighty Kathulu!" Young Colton retorted back, raising his fists above his shoulders. This time, it was his turn to chase Melanie. The both of them grew tired of their little game eventually and laid on the floor restlessly, laughing their hearts out. 

Both Melanie and Colton loved watching fantasy series, to be exact, they loved watching scenes where the mighty prince would go all dashing and brave in facing mighty demons or monsters. Colton was a boy, but surprisingly, he liked it too and that was one of the reasons why the two of them got along so well.

Melanie dreamt of marrying Colton one day, in hope that he would be the prince in the shining armor to protect and love her forever. Or so, she thought. But whoever knew that her young fantasy dream would be shattered in a blink of an eye and that in fact, monsters do exist?
