Four.

It's been a while since Colton talked to me. To be exact, it's been two weeks. Two full weeks without him bothering me and two full weeks when I can spend my time dedicated to Sarah and Luke.

I don't know, is it just me, or Luke is becoming more and more attached to me? He's been doing stuff for me lately and even more caring than he used to. It's not that I want to reject him, but I was thinking of taking a break from having a relationship more than friends. I needed to fully get over from Colton before I can give Luke a chance. Well, that's what Sarah said.

"Guys! Guys!" Sarah came hopping in out of nowhere towards mine and Luke's lunch table. "Guess what? There's a new student in our class tomorrow! Isn't it amazing! Oh-em-geeeee I have always wanted a new student since we see the same faces every day like, it's getting kinda boring. I really really hope it's a dude! A hot, sexy, one at that."

She raised her brows suggestively and giggled.

Luke snorted, "Reality check, babe, no one's hotter than this," he gestured towards his face.

I rolled my eyes at him and flicked a finger on Sarah's forehead.

"Ow! What the hell?"

"That's for rambling" I deadpanned.

"Yeah right. Anyways, see you guys in the fifth period. I'm gonna go check the library again."

She bid goodbye and hopped off, leaving me and Luke together again.

"So mind telling me again why your friend is such a moody bitch?"

"She's like that when she's on to something. So, yeah." I shrugged.

"I'm putting up with her cause of you, y'know." He joked.

"Whatever, I know deep down you like her too." I teased.

He smiled, trying his best to prevent making eye contact with me.

"You know um, about us... I was thinking..."

"Yeah?" I could feel my heartbeat accelerate.

"I was thinking we could um..." His eyes were obviously showing me that he wanted to say something but changed the subject immediately. "We could work for the history project tonight? At my place?"

My heart fell. But it's not like you were wanting to hear something from him either right?  My subconscious spoke.

"Yeah, totally. That'd be cool. We might finish it earlier than the deadline right?"

We cleared our lunch trays and he ruffled my hair before going to his next class. I beamed at him and waved goodbye, before noticing Colton staring intensely at me from the door frame of the cafeteria.

After the fourth period, History was the second last class on Monday. I packed my stuff from the locker before hanging my backpack on my right shoulder. I dragged my legs towards homeroom before someone tapped me on my shoulder. I turned my head abruptly, thinking it was a particular someone.

"What?"

"Melanie I.. I know I was jerk and I hurt your feelings but I-"

"Oh hello, cliché. You don't get to say that, after what you did. What happened with that girlfriend of yours? Ditched you for someone better?" I threw shade at Colton.

"Well, apparently." What?

"Oh." I pursed my lips. "Guess you know how it felt now don't you?"
