Five.

I walked sloppily into the house as I took off my shoes before greeting my mum.

"Hey, honey. How's school today?" she walked towards me before pecking me on the forehead.

"Nothing much. There's a new girl in class. She's supposed to come tomorrow but strangely she came in the last period of school. I wonder what's up." I dropped my bag on the couch before slouching next to it.

"Well, I guess she's just excited to be in a new school. New environment and especially new people. How's she like?"

"Her name's Mariam. Uhm, Mariam.. Valen... Volge.. Vo.. Voldenburg! That's it. Mariam Voldenburg. She's definitely from out of town and I swear she's hot! She's got all the boys gluing their eyes on her and swooning. But you know strangely Luke's got this glare every time he's around her. I don't know."

And yes my mun knew everything about my love life. I know a lot of girls don't like opening up to their mums about their private lives and stuff, but to me, my mum is the first person I go to during problems.

"Hm... Are you sure? Guys don't do that. Especially with girls like Mariam. Maybe you should try asking him why and get them to be friends?"

"I did. But it's like they're like poles that repel. Everytime Mariam gets one step close, he takes one step back. He told me to drop the subject. And, I did, seeing the menacing look plastered on his face."

"Give him some space. Then-"

Mum's sentence was cut off by a loud ding sound from the kitchen, indicating dinner's ready. She lifted a finger in the air and rushed to the kitchen. I told her I'll get ready before eating, and went to my room.

My room... I could say living heaven on earth. I didn't tell much about my life to you guys did I? Well, skipping all the dramas, it would take us to the moment when I moved to New York right where I am now. Dad, unfortunately, got lung cancer due to excessive smoking and passed away when I was five. That was twelve years ago. Mum has been working her ass off to support the both of us. She has been a vet since dad married her, but her shifts end before six in the evening, thus allowing her to be home before me. I don't have any siblings and before New York, I spent half my life in Australia. Colton always sticks around me, even from the days we were in Australia, until I moved to New York he's there with me. Good ol' times of me and Colton.. We were inseparable, like milk and cookies, jam and bread. Until recently.

Alright back to my room

Alright back to my room. The grey wallpapers, white and grey bed sheets, white dressers and white vanity table looked good together. My messy study table at the rightmost corner view from the door would be the most eye-catching furniture. You see the pattern? I love anything that's grey. I'm the kind of girl to fave on one color only. I turned on the light decoration by the wall above my bed and rummaged my messy dresser.

I took my favorite red cotton tee I once used for camp and a short shorts exposing both my legs and tied a messy bun on my head before making my way to the dining room. Even though mum is the only one working, her income was above average and I could say my house is pretty fancy. Don't worry, I won't describe anything anymore for now.
