"I thought you were hungry?" Blake asks as his arm reaches over and steals some of my fries. I scowl at him and slap his hand away.
"I am, it just hurts to move." He snatched a few more of my fries and held his hand up for a waitress.
Blake asked for a to-go box and turned to face me again. "Its fine we got to go, you can eat it in the car." He must have seen the pout on my face as he sighed and leaned back again. "We don't have time. We need to get to the next stop soon, before sun down."
"Its not even past noon yet, psycho." His eyes narrow into slits as he stares back at me.
Luckily the waitress comes by with a box and places it down. "Do you need anything else?" She smiles and waits. Black shook his head and shooed her away before grabbing my plate and dumping everything into the little box, my fries and now tossed up cheeseburger. I glare at him as he closes the box and leaves a little tip before sliding out of the booth and holding his hand out to me.
Sighing I slid out too and walked into the bathroom, listening to Blake grumble about the whole thing.
If he wanted to leave so bad maybe he should have thought about bathroom breaks, too. Damn males and can pee everywhere.
I step out of the little stale to wash my hands only to find someone standing in front of the doorway leading back out to the diner. Her curly dull red hair, light brown eyes and a dust of freckles over her small nose stood contrasted to the light paleness of her skin. Between her bright red lips a cherry lollipop sat.
I raise an eyebrow at her but continued with the task at hand. "You know he's going to get you killed right?" Turning to look as she stalks closer to me and simply shrugged as I dryer my hands off. "There's a safe havean were I'm going, but you just need to do one thing. Its simple, really." She grabbed a hold of my chin and forced my eyes to meet hers.
Her pupils dilate before enlarging, her red lips parting as a blue tint of smoke seems to part from her thick lips.
But before anything could happen a large hand closes in over her eyes, one on the back of her neck, fingers twisting into her hair before twisting her neck into an awkward angle.
I stare wide eyed shocked as the body falls to the ground and Blake's chest comes into view. He roughly grabs at my hands and pulls me out of the bathroom and out of the little diner back into the car before pulling out and screeching onto the street, cutting cars off in the process.
I know he's done it before and in front of me but still seeing it happen is something I'm not use to, something still scary to me. "You killed her." I all but whisper out in my still shocked state. He laughs cruelly and shakes his head to himself.
"That thing " He all but hisses out, "is not dead. I don't see why you should care, she tried to get you to kill me." I didn't know what to say. How can she not be dead, her head was snapped. "Faith."
I shake my head at him. Maybe it was different for him but to me it still looked like she died. "Faith."
"I just want to go back home."
"They'll kill you there. Your safer here with me."
I scoffed at him, my neck stinging in the process. "Safer with you? I almost died and whatever the hell they are wouldn't even be chasing me if it wasn't for you."
He was quiet after that. Actually for the rest of the car ride to wherever we were going.
Which looked like another little wood cabin, out in the middle of the snowy forest.
Again.
I slumped down in my seat more, focusing the heater on my feet and face before he shut the car off. "Were are we that its snowing? And why away from civilization? Wouldn't being around people help?"
Once again he remains silent, parking the car right by the entrance to the cabin. What was left of the suns rays shinning through the clouds and trees, streaming into the windows on the door.
The car was shut off and his side of the door flew open before slamming shut, my door opens as a rush of cold air comes in blowing my hair around. Blake stood in the doorway with his hand held out.
Slowly our hands touched before he was pulling me out and letting me go in front of him and placing his hand on the smalls of my back, pushing me forward towards the front the door. "Blake, I don't want to stay here."
My heels dug into the snowy, freezing soil, trying to stop myself from moving forward. He grunted and pushed me harder, forcing me into the small door frame as he searches for the little key in his pocket. He pulls it out and sticks it into the door knob, once again forcing the door open with my body in front of him before slamming the door shut behind himself.
"I'll be back in a little bit." He framed shifts from one end of the small living room, searching through the open doors before walking back to the door. "There's enough fire wood for a couple hours just stay inside." He sets my packaged food on the counter next to the door before walking out and leaving me alone once again. Just like always.
Maybe this is how its going to be, leaving me alone while he goes off and does whatever he's doing out in the snow. Maybe it will stay like this, till one day he just doesn't come back.
Then what am I suppose to do then. Stay in a little cabin forever?
