I close my eyes, but I'm more wide awake than ever. I lay in darkness and wonder how long? How long will I last until sleep hopefully takes over. But, that will never come. The sun comes up and here I am staring at the blankness of the room around me. The sun shines through. I wish to shut it out. I can barely keep my eyes open, but sleep isn't strong enough to take over. My mind wanders. I'm left awake my brain is flying and soaring. It won't shut down , but when will my body overpower for sleep? How long? How long will I last? How long until I get to sleep? Will I sleep at all? I'll never know until it comes. I try once more to close my eyes. My body takes over and calls it a day so, here I am sleeping away.
