"Violet! Violet!! What are we going to do?!" I shrieked madly at Violet.
I shook her violently because as far as I could see, she was gone. She finally snapped out of it and whispered:
"Alice, the turning."
But the people must have sensed it, because they had just moved to block our only escape. Well, not our only escape. I shut my eyes tight. I never wanted to do this but if we didn't, not only would I die but Violet as well. I had to.
"Violet! Your jacket!" I screamed while waving my arms over my head.
She looked bewildered but was able to unclasp her jacket and reveal a stunning array of different knives. In one swift motion, she threw some at me and chose a very long and especially sharp one for herself.
I was a deadly distance killer, throwing it at a fatal spot which would mean no recovery. While Violet, she was really good at hand-to-hand combat. Or at least with a knife in hand. She was slitting throats faster than a frustrated college student taking down notes and ripping out papers with mistakes. Soon, we had a crowd of dead bodies around us. The piles were growing and so were the people still gathering.
I retrieved my knives and darted over to Violet. I grabbed her arm and dragged her to the nearest house. We had to stop killing.

We had just reached the house and I left Alice to close the door behind us. It was dark in this house and I had no idea what we were getting into. Alice was wiping her knives clean while my mind was still racing and my adrenaline pumping furiously. We had just entered a random house without knowing its inhabitants. My eyes strained to look for a light switch but I didn't need to. Because right at that moment, the lights flickered on.
A man about my age stood there. He was tall and lean yet slightly muscular. He had skin a shade darker than my fair skin and his glossy, caramel hair looked quite smooth and stunning. His teeth shone like pearls. And his arm was outstretched holding the metal that would soon bring our end. End!
He had a sleek and shiny gun and it was pointed right at Alice! I immediately sprung into action and hurled myself at him. He fell to the ground and as quick as a flash, Alice had him pinned down with her knives. She looked at me with her big, brown eyes.
"Do we kill him?" she asked softly.
I gazed at this stunningly appealing man and breathed out: "No."
He stared at us hard and asked us angrily: "What are you doing here?"
I was at a loss for words. "I-I-"
"We-" butted in Alice, "We are hiding. So please cooperate."
"Oh, if that's the case, then let me welcome you." He flashed us a dazzling smile.
Me and Alice exchanged looks before we hesitantly let him go. His gaze jumped to his gun then back to us. Alice tensed up, in case this man would back up on his word. He didn't. He made us sit down on the couch and he excused himself to the kitchen. He came back with a tray of biscuits and some tea. Soon, we were having a nice conversation with him. I didn't realize it at first but I began to notice a thudding sound and I leaned over to Alice if she had heard anything. She hadn't heard a thing and I was puzzled. Then, it hit me. But it couldn't be. No way. I pushed the thought away yet the thudding never left.

Violet looks awful strange tonight. She's been chatting away with that guy like a little chirpy bird. Was this my imagination or was she glowing? What if... No. It can't be. Can it? Well, this conversation is getting quite boring so I think I'll ask her then.
