We were well away from B.J.'s house and Peter and Violet had explained everything. Everything was going to be okay.

Well, not exactly.

Suddenly, there was a crash. B.J. was on a motorcycle and he was gaining on us extremely fast. In his hand there was a gun. He shot again and it hit the sideview mirror. Peter was trying to keep us on the road. Suddenly, he wasn't aiming for us anymore. He was shooting for the tires. One, two, then three! He finally hit a tire on the third try and we spun off the road. We landed in the ditch. In the corner of my eye I saw B.J. coming down. Suddenly, i thought of something brilliant.

"Peter! How many bullets can that gun hold?"

Peter was distractedly trying to help Violet out of her seatbelt. She was cradling her right arm.

"Six!" he said urgently.

"He has one more left!"

Peter finally had Violet loose. We all scrambled out when all of a sudden, we heard a shriek. My head snapped up to where Violet was. She was held at gunpoint and B.J. had his arm wrapped around her neck. She was holding her arm and it looked bloody. Tears were streaming down her face. The sight seemed to agitate Peter extremely.

"Let go of her!" he said loudly, taking a step towards them.

"One step closer and I'll blow her brain out!" he yelled.

Peter froze and we exchanged glances.

"I didn't want to get here" he said panting, "but you have forced my hand."

"Now," he continued, "if you want her to stay safe, Alice has to come with me. AND Peter will too and I'll have Terep instead."

We were horrified. Peter looked awful. He looked determined and he said: "Fine."

He stepped closer but B.J. stopped him.

"Get Alice first."

Peter looked at me but he made no signs that he intended to get me.

He shook his head. "Violet wouldn't like that. Let her choose. But you can have me. Just let her go."

"No!" cried Violet. She cried harder.

"Aww, how sweet. You fell for a robot! The new twilight!" he laughed and bent over. With her good arm, Violet jabbed him with her elbow.

"Owch, you little bi-"

"Hey! NO BAD WORDS!" I screamed at him.

He grinned and looked at her arm.

"Aww, what's wrong with your arm here?" he then got her elbow and pressed it.

Violet cried out in pain. She inhaled sharply.

"HEY, STOP HURTING HER!" me and Peter shouted simultaneously.

Violet was looking up and biting her lip. Then she swung. B.J. fell as she tried to run but B.J. lifted his gun and fired.

Everything happened in slow motion. Violet fell and lay down on the dirt with her hair around her. Peter cried out and jumped over to B.J and punched him so hard he was knocked out immediately with a few of his teeth. I ran sobbing over to Violet. Peter urged me to the motor and he pulled her up gently, careful of her afflicted arm. He carried her and he sat in the front and we placed Violet between us. He drove as fast as the devil and I held on very tight wrapping Violet in between me and Peter.

We were waiting for her to come out of the ER and dad was there. Peter refused to sit down and just paced around restlessly. Finally, some doctors came out shaking their heads. I knew what that meant and I wouldn't want to here it from them. I ran out of the hospital and went to Sunset Hill. Me and Violet were supposed to go here tomorrow but how could she?? I cried for a long time. I remembered the time where I slipped on a bar of soap and Violet miraculously caught me which caused us both to fall down and we both laughed so hard. I cried even harder.

When it was sunset I trudged along home. I ignored dad and Peter and just rushed to the room.

"Well, it's about time you arrived." said a voice.

I looked up and saw Violet sitting on the bed with a cast on her arm and one on her foot. Her crutches were propped up against the bed. I didn't know what to say. I just ran up and hugged her.

"I- I thought you were gone! T-the doctors I thought I-"

"Hey, easy there! Well, sometimes we think things that aren't real. Plus, those weren't my doctors," she said laughing. We hugged for a long time. Peter and dad finally came up,

"Well, it's my fault, girls. I should have been around more often," said dad looking very sad.

"Aww, come on, daddy. Come here!" we opened our arms and hugged him.

"Hey, what about me?" said Peter with a grin.

We laughed and he hugged us all. After the hugs died down, we let dad sleep. He wasn't used to this much excitement. The three of us lay down on the bed with Violet in the middle.

"Are you staying?" asked Violet.

"Well, if I can." he said shyly.

"You can sleep here next to me!"

"My, my," I said with a smirk, "Sleeping together already?"

Violet punched me in the arm and gave me a look. We all laughed and lay down. Then I looked at Violet's cast. There was a blob of pink gum.
