This is a poem abdelrahman wrote called "Limbo"Posted by his family on 27th of June, 2014
"Days and days have come and gone
And I'm clinging to the hope of being free
A hope I had since day one
But frustratingly, it never seems to be.
Aims and dreams shattered and broken
Sometimes it's more than I can take
Hopes and words left unspoken
And now my faith begins to shake.
I shut my eyes and envision tomorrow
I picture my dreams painted in the sky
"They seem so far" I regard with sorrow
I yearn for them, but they're a bit too high.
I picture seizing them, and I linger there
I feel triumph, I sense freedom
I try to grip that felicity, and not flare
I obliterate my lamentations, I desire eluding them.
If only I could halt the time
If only I could dwell right here
Never to return to this place of crime
Never undergo this ominous fear.
But as once a friend has said to me
In a moment of clarity under the rain
If ever you dream of being free
You must remember:" No pain, no gain". "
