"Fuck! I forgot my phone!" Jensen Sanders exclaimed to her boyfriend Cody just as her mother Elaine pull out of the crowded highschool parking lot.
"well maybe If u let me drive you to school you wouldn't forget your phone in her car all the time" Cody retorted as they walked down the hall to English class. Jensen laughed at his comment she'd just get Lily to give it to her before her exam. In the town of Lake Lock Jensen was not what you would call normal, She lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with her mom above a pizza place her mother owned named Slices. Jensen had waist length silver hair, a sleeve of blank n grey roses and ears mostly made of mental. Jensen was only 17 and was working in her mothers shop while still attending highschool with her lovely boyfriend Cody Detent whom she couldn't live without. She was happy with her life and her family, but it wasn't always like that... about 2 years ago before she lived in a pizza shop, before Cody and before her father left, things were very different. The family of three used to live in a large suburban house, they used to attend church every Sunday and watch football games at the highschool on Saturday then every other day of the week was lived in fear of her fathers rage while he was drunk or on some random drug he got for cheap. The abuse was toward no one In particular but it was often let out on Jensen's mother and herself. Around this time was when Jensen's depression was at an all time high, she cared nothing of her appearance or health, she regularly smoked and drank and hardly ever showed up to class, that was until she met a boy named Cody one day out in the parking lot. Jensen didn't remember much from that day but she did recall that she found him sleeping in his car half naked.

I am getting the hell out of here before I kill somebody
Jensen though as she stomped through the parking lot
"I wasn't even that stoned no need to kick me out of. class. bitch." she uttered under her breath to no one.
Jensen sat on the hood of her red 2004 Toyota and reached for the pack of smokes in her bag, getting worried someone stole them she rooted farther into her bag until before realizing they were sitting in the passenger side of her car. She walked around to open the door but stopped. Is that guy asleep? oh god. is he naked?
"Hey!"
"HEY! dude what the fuck are you doing don't you know if they catch you sleeping here they'll fine you." Jensen said as she knocked on the boys window. He didn't even flinch as Jensen banged on the backseat window of his Dodge Dart. Suddenly a black and white cat jumped up onto the seat and jolted up to the window it startle Jensen enough to fall back onto her car with a high pitched scream. With that the boy jolted up right smacking his head off the roof of his car Jensen gasped before opening the door to see if he was alright, he got up again slower and rubbed his head while his cat meowed loudly from the front seat.
"Oh my god are you okay?"
Jensen asked concerned
"I'm fine I guess. Who screamed?"
"oh umm I did. your cat scared me a little but only because I was looking in your car and s-"
"wait why were you looking in my car?"
"I ummmmmm you were asleep and I know that if they fine you asleep in your car you'll get in shit"
"Oh well thanks-"
"I also thought you were naked"
how awkward is this. god
"uh."
"Sorry. word vomit. I'm kinda stoned"
"Well I'm not naked. I'm Cody."
"haha hi Cody I'm Jensen"
"so you're stoned huh"

After that day Jensen came to school more often to hangout with Cody she found out he was living in his car with the occasional night on a friends coach because his mom lost her job a few months ago, he'd been working odd jobs since, even up to 3 at once. Jensen also found that his father had gone to serve in Afghanistan and wasn't coming back for another 2 years. at the end of a month they were best friends she knew everything about him and they hung out whenever Cody wasn't working , but he never let her over at his house for 2 months, I didn't bother Jensen she never let him over to her place.
She knows a lot about Cody now but Cody only knows what Jensen wants him to about her, which isn't much. She thought if she told him what home was really like he'd leave like the others. Jensen knew he'd get suspicious eventually because he only knows that part she shows him. One night at Cody's house they were playing halo and Cody out of nowhere asks
"why have I never been to your house? I know you didn't come here for a while but will I ever see your house?"
he said casually.
Jensen began to panic. She knew he'd eventually want to know but she wasn't expecting it so soon.
"Um i don't know I guess we just- ah, never..."
she trailed off.
Cody suddenly picked the remote off the table and turned off the tv
"hey! just cause you're losing doesn't mean you can turn off the game."
Jensen laughed but as she looked over to Cody he's face was a stone serious expression.
"what?" Jensen said quietly
"Jensen. Tell me why I've never been to your house."
Jensen said nothing and looked away from him.
"Come on Jensen, if there's something wrong you can tell me."
his voice a bit softer but she still stayed silent
"Jensen!-"
Cody stated a bit louder then intended while grabbing her wrist. She flinched back quickly to the other end of the sofa eyes wide in fear.
"Jensen? Oh god Jensen I'm sorry-I"
before he finished his sentence Jensen leaped off the coach and out the door, it was night and she hadn't even grabbed her shoes. He was shocked, how could he scare her like that maybe something else was going on? Cody began to worry about his best friend, he gathered his thoughts, and his shoes.****
