ALFIE'S POV

"Come on Zoe, we're going to be late!" I shouted over to my best friend as I admired her putting on lipstick in the mirror. We were going to my friend Marcus' party, celebrating him hitting one million subscribers.

"Sorry Mr Deyes! I'm a girl, so I take longer at getting ready than you! Anyway, we'll be fashionably late!" She argued back.

I stared at her longingly, and then remembered that I had to stop myself. We were best friends. She was not my girlfriend. I wished we were more...

I was wearing my favourite dark blue t-shirt, black jeans and my red vans. Zoe was wearing a black skater skirt, black tights, suede black wedges and her famous 'geek' top, that her viewers loved.

We were all youtubers; me, Zoe, Marcus, Louise, Joe, Tanya, Jim, Casper, Jack and Finn. Me and Zoe got the train from London to Brighton, where Marcus lived, and then we took a taxi from the station to Marcus'.

As we were sat in the back of the taxi I realised that Zoe's small hands were cupped around her knees,like she was nervous. She didn't have a reason to be anxious that I knew of, but I was still worried.

I cautiously placed my hand on hers and gave her a warm smile. She flinched suddenly and then relaxed, smiling back. But we were just friends, right?

"Hey, hey, hey my main man! How's life then mate? Haven't seen you in a while!" Marcus asked me as I walked through the door. Zoe walked straight off to Louise, where they started gossiping about god knows what.They were best friends, inseparable.

"Yeah, man. I'm great! I heard about you and Niomi! She sounds great after your last bird. That cheating idiot!". Niomi was Marcus' new girlfriend. She was pretty and had an amazing sense of humour.

"Yeah, me and Niomi are great, have you not found that special someone yet?" I suddenly tensed up; Marcus didn't know about my feelings for Zoe, maybe now was the time to tell him.

Rita Ora was blasting through the speakers as I dragged Marcus into the bathroom, ready to tell him my secret.

"Woah, Alf! What are we doing in here?" Marcus questioned. I put down the toilet seat and sat on it, taking a deep breath. " Marky, I want you to listen to me now. I have something to tell you..."
