'I need you' | A zalfie fanfic

ZOES POV 5

When I opened my eyes all I could see was white.

It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the brightness in the room but I managed to and I saw Alfie sat in the armchair, just across from me. He was snoring softly with his laptop resting in his lap.

It was obvious that I was in a hospital... but why?

And then I remembered.

Me and Alfie had been out shopping for the day, and we were going for a little walk around the village near where I live and I collapsed there and then on the pavement, just a few feet away from a taxi. Classy.

The more I began to think about what happened the more I remembered. I was stressing about me and Alfie and how I liked him and if he liked me and I went a bit light headed and bam I'm in a hospital bed.

I have had many panic attacks in my years of growing up but non had been this bad. I was known to faint but only for like 10 minutes. I'm guessing this was for longer.

Alfie woke up and turned his head straight to my bed. I looked back at him and winked and his eyes lit up. Wow, he liked me as a 'friend' so much.

'Zoe!' he said with a smile. 'Alfie!' I said with an even bigger smile. He walked quickly over to my bed and put his hand on my arm. 'Are you okay? You were out for a while, nearly 3 hours! Sorry, I fell asleep. What can I say, I'm just lazy!' he laughed, but with worry still drifting through his chocolate eyes.

'I feel okay I guess, just a bit sleepy and nauseous. I don't normally feel nauseous after a panic attack though...' I said.

'Well, Zo, the doctors seemed a bit worried,' Alfie told me, tears welling up in his eyes. 'They think there might be something wrong with you. Thankfully they found it when I brought you in and they might be able to diagnose it quickly.'

My stomach churned slowly inside of me, sending waves of sickness all over my body. This couldn't really be happening could it? 'Alfie what is it?' I asked him as my voice quivered and broke, like a teenage boy.

'I-I couldn't tell you, I'm not completely sure myself. Your parents will be here soon too, and Joe. I called them for you. Let's wait to hear from the doctor to get some answers.' He reassured me.

I nodded and put my head back down on my pillow. I closed my eyes and said in a voice that Alfie could probably only just hear. 'Would you stay with me? Even when my parents are here? I need you.'

He took a deep breath and put his hand in mine. 'It would be an honour Zoe Sugg.'
