A/n: A double update time because I don't have a life and yeah...also I have a question for my fellow readers. Now I don't really keep up with Naruto nowadays, still love the anime, but my question is...is it Mikoto or Mitoko? I hope you can help cause heh I don't really know. Thanks! Also there's a bit of dialogue in this, hope you don't mind :3.
Sakura's POV:
Just smile and wave, and hopefully things won't get worse and you'll have less to stress about later. I kept slowly waving at Sasuke and the shocked expression never left his face, I prayed that tonight would go well if it doesn't I'll just use my ringtone excuse.
"Brother are you and Sakura friends now?" He asked Itachi, pure curiosity in his tone.
"Yes, we are."
He didn't reply and I was afraid to look at him in fear of just getting glared at, with him hoping I spontaneously combust into flames.
"Alright now you two, come on go set the table so we can eat, shoo shoo." Mikoto shoo'ed both Itachi and Sasuke away, she turned to face me and I could see a plan brewing behind those black eyes.
"Sakura-Chan, here why don't me and you go into the living room to chat! It's been so long since I've seen you," she directed her attention to the other boys, "you guys know the place so go help Itachi and Sasuke with the table." She smiled at them.
"Yes Mikoto." Deidara said, easily complying with her words. She guided me into the living room and we sat down on the couch, their father sitting in the chair not far from us.
"Sakura, how have you been? And might I ask how have you met Itachi and got so... acquainted with him."
"Well... It's a pretty long story, I don't know If you wa-"
"I do honey, continue please." She answered rather quickly.
I cleared my throat.
"Alright well... I met him when me and Sasuke had an... altercation at school." Her expression tightened but she gestured for me to continue, "So, I thought that was the last time I was going to see him but then his locker was next to mine! I knew he was an upperclassmen but he said that they're weren't any left so they moved him down next to mine and...yeah. I ran into him when I was with Naruto, met Sasori and them and today we all hung out after school and here we are...heh." I grinned at her and I could see she was piecing together the vague puzzle pieces I gave her. I saw a smirk on their fathers face and yepp I'm missing something here, dammit what is it!
"Ahem...am I missing something?"
"Oh no dear, don't worry about it! The table must be set by now, Fugaku." Mikoto said to him as she led me into the kitchen. The table looked pretty amazing, and I wasn't just talking about how good the food looked. When I saw the food my mouth watered and I think Mikoto noticed. She pointed to an empty seat next Itachi. 'Of course it's next to him... I thought to myself. But since the food looked way to good to ignore I complied with her seating arrangement and sat next to him.
-o-
As everyone was seated around the table comfortable small talk was shared and Fugaku even asked me a few questions. Of course I was nervous under his calculating gaze and one time Itachi told his father to quit bothering me. We all know Mikoto gushed over that and Fugaku had an amused expression on his face the rest of dinner. Sasuke... stayed quiet the entire dinner and I was really hoping it wasn't cause of me and it was just his usual asshole attitude. But when dinner was over Mikoto asked Sasuke to clear the table and since I wanted to know if he was mad, I volunteered to help. She was declining like I thought she would but she eventually let me, and that's how I came to be at the kitchen sink with Sasuke... in silence.I would wash and he would dry. After a good ten minutes of silence he broke it, "I...I'm sorry about what happened with Ino." I stopped washing and looked at him.
