I wipe my hands from the handtowel resting nearby and walk out of the kitchen, exhausted from the intense dish-washing exercise I had gone through for who knows how long. I drag my feet towards the living room, hoping to experience even a fragment of tranquillity. However, once I open the giant doors leading to the living room, my eyes widen when they catch a glimpse of all the brothers relaxing together in the room. They were not talking to each other through any means, but the fact that they were all there, in the same room, not trying to kill each other, resulted in a wave of shock running through my spine. When a voice reaches my ears, I snap out of my still state and look around to find the owner.
"Shinju!" My gaze finally settles on Kou as he waves his hand in front of him to get my attention quicker. "We have been waiting for you for so long! Come sit with us! Where were you?" He pouts and slumps his shoulders as he stuffs his hand between his thighs to exaggerate the expression and it's impact, though, failing at the latter.
"Oh, I'm sorry. It is not really that easy for me to clean around 40 different utensils in a second." I roll my eyes but sit next to him nonetheless without another word as his pout visibly increases. As we all sit there in silence, I look around the room, unaware of what topic to bring up so this slightly awkward silence would simply be temporary. That is when my eyes land on Yui, making me widen my eyes since I had not noticed her sitting there beforehand. As soon as she looks up to gaze at the brothers, I turn away so I am glaring at a random wall instead of staring at her unpleasant face.
"Um, I had a question regarding the graduation tomorrow. Since everyone was talking about it during dinner, I thought it might be good if I asked now. Am I supposed to be there as well?" I hear Yui mutter and roll my eyes, sighing quietly, before I turn back to look at her with a bored expression.
I don't want you to but I don't think I have a choice if I want to keep an eye on her.
"Of course you're coming. You think we'll let you stay here, in this giant mansion, alone? We don't trust you with all that much." I cross my arms and legs after responding to her. She opens her mouth to speak back but then forces herself to close it to stop herself from arguing against me.
It's not use, Yui. You were on thin ice the moment you walked in. Now, you've completely broken the ice and if I'm going down, I'm taking you with me. You're going down and freezing to your death either way, and I will make sure of that.
"Alright, then." She shrinks in her place instead and slumps her shoulders to seem even more petite than she already is. I sigh at her posture and turn away from her, not wanting to stare any longer. Before anyone can join in the already dead conversation, Yui gets up without a word and starts to walk away from us, closer to the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" I narrow my eyes at her and sit up straight, placing my hands by my side as I watch her movement with suspicion. She stops abruptly and turns to face me, a timid shake running through her body as soon as she meets my eyes. Her gaze shifts from my eyes to the carpeted floor in an instant and I notice her eyes darting back and forth as if she was trying to come up with an answer in a panic.
"Uh- back to my room... to- uhm-"
"To?" I press further when she abruptly stops herself from speaking further.
"I-I don't know. Something in me tells me that I should go up there." She turns to me briefly before turning away from me once again. I click my tongue at her behavior and stand up, showing her that I will not be taking any crap from her.
