Captured

Chapter 31

EMMA'S POV

We enter the big hall and I hear the door is being closed with a slam.

I step out of the vehicle and slam the door shut. Behind me a light flickers. A boy also steps out.

"Look, it's been a long night and it's almost..." I look at the big clock tower. "...8:15" I say a bit confused.

"That clock hasn't moved my whole life. Time's frozen here." the kid says. "Excuse me?" I say, not believing him.

I snap out of it and see Killian looking at me concerned and confused. "Who were you talking to?" he asks. I look at him questingly. "You were talking about having a long night and a time." Killian says.

Was I saying that out loud? Then I see Baelfire looking at me with the same look as Killian. But there's someone else in his eyes. Understanding. He knows what just happened.

"Later, ok?" I asks and Killian nods lightly, but I know he doesn't agree with it. He wants to know what's going on. I want to know what's going on.

We enter the living chamber and there are my parents. They look around to see who's entering and when they see me, their eyes grow big.

"E.. Emma?" my dad stumbles out. My mother quickly comes to me and hugs me tightly.

"We are so sorry." she says in my neck. My father lays a hand on my mothers back and smiles at me warmly.

I quickly look away. He tried to kill Killian. My dad notices. "Emma, I was wrong. But there's still one thing that I need to do." he says and I look at him again. He's walking towards Killian and before I knew it, my dad hit Killian in the face with his fist.

"I deserved that." Killian says as he rubs his jaw. I chuckle a bit.

"We were about to go to dinner. Would you care to join us?" mom asks us. "We would love to." I say and Killian grabs my hand.

Baelfire coughs and it's only then that my parents notice he is with us as well. They look at me questioningly and I give then an reassuring nod. "Baelfire, you can join as well, if you like."

Baelfire nods. "I will. Afterwards I'm going to papa. I need to speak with him." he says.

We all walk to the dining room where 2 plates have been set up. My mother asks Johanna, one of the maids, for 3 more plates and we all sit down.

The food is being served and we start eating. My mother keeps smiling at me the whole time.

"I still can't believe you are here after what we almost did." she says. I smile. "After that letter you send, I couldn't be mad anymore."

My mother and father look at me with confusion. "What letter?" my dad asks cautiously.

I stop eating. "You mean, you didn't send me a letter?" I ask and look at Killian. He looks puzzled.

"No Emma. We didn't send you a letter." my mother says.

"Love, do you have it with you?" Killian asks. I nod and grab the letter from Baelfires satchel. I give it to my mother, who reads it and then passes it to my father.

"I didn't write such a thing. Of course we are sorry, but we wanted to give you time." my mother says.

"Bloody Hell." Killian mumbles and then looks up, "It must be a trap."

As if on cue, the doors open. "It's not a trap." the boy who walked in says. He looks strangely familiar. "I wrote it." he says.

"You?" Baelfire says. "You're real?" The kid nods. Then it occurs. That's the boy from that hallucination.

"Who are you?" my father and Killian ask at the same time.

The kid looks at Baelfire and than at me. He looks me dead in the eye as he responds.

"My name is Henry and I'm your son.

I really had a lot of fun writing this, even with some writers block that I had and my finals! At the time I'm writing this authors note, I have 3,42K reads, 548 votes and 77 comments. How? I never thought this story would get over 3K reads, since it's my first story and the first chapters are horrible. Thank you all so so much and I hope you will all be there for the sequel!
Next week I am going to publish the first chapter of the sequel! It's called 'Cursed'

Tomorrow there will be a new chapter of 'Lost Ones' and I loved writing that chapter!
